"This is a uniquely situated, rustic property, run by lovely people. You will get a real experience of deep Morocco in the High Atlas if you visit. The area is incredibly beautiful. A magical experience. But be aware - this hotel is situated off road. To get here you will need a high clearance SUV if conditions are good. If they are not, a 4x4. Punctures are likely, so make sure you have a spare, and can change a wheel. If it snows, you may not be able to get there (or back) at all. There is a...

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Majjat?
The best area to stay in Majjat is within the walls of the Medina, particularly around the main square of Jemaa el-Fnaa and the souks, or in the more tranquil, upscale Palmeraie district just outside the city.

The Medina is the historic heart of Majjat and offers an authentic experience. Centred around the bustling Jemaa el-Fnaa square, it's a labyrinth of narrow alleyways filled with souks (markets), traditional riads (guesthouses), and local eateries. You'll find everything from spices and leather goods to local crafts. This area is great for couples seeking a truly immersive cultural experience, with many historic sites like the Bahia Palace and Ben Youssef Madrasa within easy walking distance.

For those prioritising relaxation and luxury, the Palmeraie district is an excellent choice. Located a short drive north-east of the Medina, this area is characterised by its vast palm groves and spacious, high-end resorts. It offers a peaceful escape from the city's hustle, with many establishments featuring extensive gardens, swimming pools, and spa facilities.
When is the best time to go to Majjat?
The best time to go to Majjat, Marrakech, Morocco, is during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) when the weather is pleasant and comfortable for exploring.

During these months, the temperatures are moderate, typically ranging from 20-30°C (68-86°F), making it ideal for sightseeing and outdoor activities without the intense heat of summer or the cooler evenings of winter. You'll find it's a great time to wander through the souks, visit historical sites like the Bahia Palace, and enjoy the Jemaa el-Fnaa square.

For those looking to avoid the busiest tourist periods, late spring (May) and early autumn (September) offer a good balance of agreeable weather and slightly fewer crowds than the peak weeks in April and October. This allows for a more relaxed experience when visiting attractions and dining out.

If you're planning a trip primarily for cultural exploration and don't mind slightly cooler evenings, the shoulder months of March and November can also be excellent.
