Stay at the 1842 Inn if you want the vibe of an old southern mansion. It is clean, the rooms are furnished with antiques, yes some plaster is peeling, but the bed is comfortable. The staff is super friendly. The breakfast in the courtyard was enjoyable. I recommend for those that are not too fussy though, since the vibe is definitely OLD southern home.

It was the epidemy of southern hospitality. All staff members were extremely friendly and helpful. Especially the kitchen staff. They prepared a wonderful breakfast, provided excellent service and even gave my wife the recipe to their breakfast souffle.

The inn was beautiful and the on site parking was very convenient! We came to Macon for a concert at the Macon City Auditorium and it was very easy for us to walk to the venue from the inn. We also walked to Mercer campus nearby which was beautiful. So many beautiful old houses in this area.

Great antebellum home, good location for downtown, great attentive service. Free on lot parking, relaxing porch and gardens. Our room needed a deep clean. A lot of dust.

Beautiful property in historic area. We stayed in the Dogwood room on the first level. The room is quiet and loaded with period decorations. The very best part was sipping wine on the porch and having hors D’oeuvres delivered. Great staff and very comfortable stay.

It was a stop over but we had a nice little dinner at Oliver’s, and it very good. The staff at 1842 was very kind and helpful. I wish I had gotten to know a little more of the town.

Southern Hospitality
Staying at the 1842 is an exceptional experience! Such a beautiful home! The Southern Charm and Hospitality is Real!! Katy, Gloria and Lececia were so welcoming and wonderful! Hopefully will be able to go back sometime!!

Lovely Stay Highly Recommended

1842 Inn was absolutely the best! Beds were the comfiest of anywhere I’ve stayed. The staff really understand hospitality and are so charming! Parking easy. Place is so clean and updated. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful Inn with all the right touches.
Wonderful stay at the 1842 Inn. Very friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed a cocktail with appetizers prepared by staff on the veranda before heading downtown for a fantastic dinner, reservations made for us. Everything about the inn was beautiful from our room to the inn itself and the outdoor spaces. Can't wait to return and highly recommend it if you're in the Macon Georgia area.

This inn was wonderful. The staff went out of their way to spoil us and make this our home from home. Delicious breakfasts and hors d'oeuvres and the room was breathtaking. Will definitely return.

Room too warm.
We stayed in the Wilson room and though it was a very pretty room, it was too warm at night. There was a fan in the room which helped some. It was not comfortable. When we talked to management, they said there really wasn’t anything that could be done.

The property was gorgeous antebellum home. Decorated in period style. The grounds were well kept, serene garden and porches for relaxing. But the staff made the place! Everyone was charming , helpful and went extra mile. I would definitely stay again
