Schloss Roxburghe Golf Resort, Part of Destination by Hyatt

10/10 Excellent

"Room was clean and had all the amenities we needed (though limited milk for tea 🙂 - could have just asked for more). Staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Excellent buffet breakfast, all well cooked. Ordered poached eggs may have been forgotten about as they came out with a hot plate and were hard... other than that, it was very enjoyable and plentiful. The spa was fantastic. Lovely outdoor heated pool you can come back indoors to get out of. Steam room, sauna, plunge pool and jacuzzi were all clean and worked very well. Very enjoyable and not at all busy when we were there. 4 complimentary EV charging stations were a real bonus and made our return journey no bother at all. Only negative for us would be the tv. Chromecast didn't work with most updated apps and there was no guide to the received channels. In all it was an amazing luxury stay that we would highly recommend to others."

Dryburgh Abbey Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Fantastic! We have been many times and always enjoyed our stay but this time was different. Rooms have had a slight upgrade (new carpets) and the food quality was amazing. Thanks to Petra for her fabulous menu. There's always something else we haven't seen or done in the area. It continues to keep our interest. Thank you for a fantastic stay!"

Ednam House Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Had a wonderful weekend in the hotel. Room was spotless and bath/ shower room first class with a huge walk in shower and large free standing roll top bath. Staff were respectful and helpful at all times. Breakfasts were excellent as were the bar meals and drinks. Lovely view from bedroom over the grounds and river. Plenty of parking and well situated in the town with excellent variety of shops."

Bayswell Park Hotel

8/10 Good

"No lift was a problem but the duty staff were really helpful taking our bags up and down stairs. Bed was comfy, view from room 1 was outstanding. Room was warm, well equipped, decor a bit wild but generally clean. The food was wonderful, can’t fault it. Whilst it is old and could do with some TLC, I would happily stay here again."

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Longformacus?

The best time to visit Longformacus is during the warmer months, from late spring (May) through early autumn (September), to fully enjoy the natural beauty and outdoor activities.

During these months, the weather is generally milder and there are longer daylight hours, which is ideal for exploring the surrounding Lammermuir Hills, walking, or fishing in the Dye Water. This period offers the best conditions for outdoor enthusiasts and those looking to experience the Scottish countryside at its most inviting.

For those interested in local events, late summer often brings country shows and agricultural fairs to the wider Berwickshire area, providing a glimpse into rural Scottish life. These events can be a delightful addition to a family holiday, offering entertainment and local produce.

While Longformacus is beautiful year-round, visiting outside of this window can mean colder temperatures and shorter days, which might limit some outdoor pursuits.

Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?

Many Expedia hotel reservations are refundable, provided that you cancel before the hotel's cancellation deadline – this is often within 24-48 hours of your scheduled arrival. If you have a non-refundable booking, it might still be possible to receive a refund if you cancel it within 24 hours of booking. Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy. For maximum flexibility, use our "Fully refundable property" filter during your search to find the right Longformacus hotel for you.

How much is the nightly rate at a Longformacus hotel?
