Spectacular Ocean View, 2-story, non-smoking condominium, has over 1200 interior sq. ft. as well as 3 private lanais. It's perfect for one family, or 2 couples. This Poipu Beach condo is located in lush grounds that remind guests of a tropical botanical garden. Our condo is decorated with a Hawaiian theme, modern yet Island feel. A fully-stocked kitchen with all the amenities, or adjacent is the BBQ area. A 55" TV in the living room with cable and DVD, and free WIFI so you can stay connected. Master bedroom has a flat panel LCD TV. The condo has a powerful A/C the keep the whole condo cool and comfortable. The Nihi Kai Villas are a short walk to the beach, but are located ocean front. There are tennis courts, a pool and BBQ areas available to guests. Restaurant at Poipu Shopping Village are a short walk away for award winning food. We counted 120 paces to the ocean from our condo, and a few more to Brennecke Beach. What's Nearby? Nihi Kai 804 is situated just steps from the ocean, and Brennecke Beach is a few yards further. This is a great boogie boarding beach. Another few yards and you will come to Poipu Beach. Poipu Beach was voted #1 beach in the U.S.A. by The Travel Channel. It offers swimming, snorkeling, surfing, boogie boarding, playground, restaurant, ice cream shop, surf shop and a baby beach, all within easy walking distance of #804. Just up the road is The Poipu Shopping Village, where you will find various shops, and some great restaurants. On Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5pm there is a great Polynesian Show in the courtyard. One of our favorite restaurants is Keoki's Paradise, which has a great selection of food. The Old Town of Koloa is a couple of miles down the road, and offers a quaint look back in time, and is home to stores and more restaurants. Further down is Spouting Horn state park, and the arboretum, which are both free to visit. Local Activities: There are many things to do on Kauai, some advertised some not. There are several stairs that would be a problem for people with limited mobility. The condo was stocked with essential items better then any previous rental I've had (soaps, toilet paper, trash bags, shampoo, body wash, etc). It's nice to not have to bring them or pay inflated island prices. Also well stocked with beach chairs and accessories. Beach is within walking distance, but driving makes more sense if you are taking cooler, chairs, umbrella, etc. Steve provided helpful info for check-in and was responsive to questions. A few things in the condo didnt work as intended and some cleaning disappointments, but nothing really problematic. ##### shannon S. The check in process was easy. The kitchen was fully stocked. The Not So Good: The overall cleanliness of the condo. The deck seat cushions and the kitchen chair cushions were all stained/ dirty. The rugs in the bathrooms were dirty. The carpeting in the living room & down the stairs was stained/ dirty. The living room furniture was old and uncomfortable. The shower curtains in both bathrooms were molded. There were no instructions anywhere to operate anything. There was a laminated booklet in the kitchen with sightseeing info but no instructions. While all of this is probably pretty normal with a rental, its still disappointing when you choose a spectacular location to stay, and end up having to deal with these issues. The phone number for the property management company was not found until later in the week, it was on framed instructions 1/2 hidden behind the toaster in the kitchen. At this point, we had 2 days left to our vacation and didn't want to deal with the intrusion of property management for things that should have been done prior to our arrival. After our vacation, we did reach out to the host Steve to convey all of these issues & he was prompt and genuine in his response. Overall, this is a fantastic location. The area is in a very well-kept, beautiful complex with wonderful plant life. The beaches are very close and offer good opportunities for boogie boarding and snorkeling. Unit was as described and had plenty of starter supplies. We spent early mornings and evenings on the lanai enjoying the gorgeous view. Quiet area, beautiful landscaping and had the pool to ourselves when the beach was crowded. Experienced a safety issue in the parking lot, onsite mgr addressed immediately. Perfect location, excellent home kitted out with all the essentials. My kids loved the spray toys for the pool. The views were just killer and we could walk to two beaches in minutes. The only note: we had one traveler with some mobility issues, and the stairs to the condo, and within the condo was a challenge. And the two bathrooms were on the floor with the two bedrooms, so a lot more stairs. The property host was very responsive and I would give it two big thumbs up. The beach is probably 1/4 mile and easily walkable but we drove due to all the gear we brought each day. Wonderful morning walks in any direction. Séjour de 14 nuits en mars 2024 ### 8/10 – Bien #### Mike R. 21 nov. 2023 #### Great family trip Two 65 yr-old grandparents, a 30-something year-old daughter, a 3 1/2 yr old grandson, and 9 mo-old grandaughter. Recipe for disaster? NO! This condo made all the difference. The unit was in the far back of Nihi Kai, with an elevated view of the grounds and a tight view of the breakers on Poipu Beach. Very quiet, and grounds were beautiful. We walked daily from the unit to Poipu beach (and passed Brennecke's Beach along the way) with the grandkids in a stroller. Did have to spend some of the walk on a local road, but traffic was sparse and most drivers were respectful of pedestrians. The unit has a large main floor (stairs to access) with two bedrooms and 2 bathrooms downstairs. Ductless air conditioning heads on main floor and in both bedrooms worked well. No bathtub for small children, so be ready to improvise. Owner (Steve) was very responsive and great to work with. If we return to Kauai, we would certainly consider staying here again. ##### Mike R. The condo is clean and the beds comfortable. The view is a little far off, and you can't hear the water, but we had rainbows every day! One day we got stuck in a rainstorm and had to turn back to the condo so we went swimming in the pool for a little bit until the rain passed. The pool was warm and clean. We liked this condo and grounds were pretty. The air conditioning worked well. ##### Allison B.
