Pool, SPA , huge Lanai . Pickle Ball This is a spacious (1300 square feet) ground level, three bedroom, two bathroom, ocean view condominium, in the very popular, upscale Makahuena Resort located in the center of Poipu. It's size and internal layout provides spacious comfort for as many as 8 but works perfectly well and is priced for smaller groups. You might want to invite your family or friends to share the cost as they will be comfortable too. Check our monthly rates as we encourage longer stays. View our guest comments to see why our condo is so popular. The resort complex sits on a cliff overlooking the ocean providing an unforgettable view and experience. You can view both sunrise and sunset from the site 'Point' a few steps from our lanai where the sound of the ocean and it's spray is breathtaking. The Makahuena is in the center of the Poipu golf world including being walking distance from Poipu Bay, former site of the Grand Slam of golf. The Makahuena contains it's own tennis and pickleball facility (a rare commodity in Poipu condo complexes) bringing those sports steps from our unit. Top rated sandy beaches that provide sunbathing and surfing are less than a ten minute walk to the east (Shipwreck Beach) and to the west (Brennecke's Beach). Brennecke's beach has a breakwater that provides protected beaches for toddlers and calm waters for snorkelers. IMPORTANT ITEM If you are traveling with children or people that enjoy the pool or spa, ground floor units such as ours have a huge benefit in the ease of access to these popular items. From our unit, you are step free seconds away from the pool gate to enjoy or check your kids swimming. The Makahuena is made up largely of three story buildings with no elevators, and pool access from upper units requires many steps to the opposite side of the pool then walking around the buildings. A somewhat time consuming and strenuous task. FLOOR PLAN The floor plan is all contained on one level eliminating the need to climb stairs to bedrooms or second bathrooms. Our seniors especially appreciate this convenience but everyone loves it. Additionally, the ground level location allows step free access to the impeccably maintained grounds, pool, spa, barbecue, view point, and other entertainment areas. The kitchen was completed renovated in November 2014; new granite counter tops, Solid Mahogany door and drawer fronts provide a stunning look. Elegant Tile Flooring was installed in all three bedrooms adding a very upscale look and providing a cooler (temperature) unit. A brand new Mitsubishi top of the line air conditioning system was installed in June 2022 which provides greatly increased comfort in every room even when the trade winds slow . Sleeping Accommodation There are 3 bedrooms: The Master Suite, a smaller Suite and a 3rd bedroom. The master suite is a large bedroom containing a brand new Simmons Beautyrest king bed (10/23). It has it's own bathroom which contains two large counters (his and hers) instead of the usual one. This bedroom opens directly to the lanai providing it's own ocean view and instant access to the beautiful grounds and all it's features. The second large bedroom also has a King Bed and both of these bedrooms have their own televisions. The third bedroom is smaller, but large enough to contain a brand new Beautiful Bunk Bed and an adjacent Queen Bed. If this bedroom is not needed it makes an excellent location to store luggage and golf clubs. Additionally the living room contains a brand new (10/23) top of the line Lazy Boy Queen Sleeper for added sleeping capacity. Summary of Sleeping arrangements: Bedroom 1. Primary Master Suite, King bed, with own Full Bathroom with his and her's sinks. Direct Access to Lanai, Pool , Spa and Grounds. High Definition TV Bedroom 2. Junior Suite with King Bed. Full bathroom in adjacent room. LG High Definition TV Bedroom 3 1 Queen Bed and 1 Bunk Bed Living Room New Lazy Boy Queen sleeper The unit has been recently redecorated including some new furniture and beautiful tile and paint. Three new (10/23) Lazy Boy swivel recliners adjacent to the new Queen Sleeper, are great additions for comfort and conversation and TV watching on the new 65" Samsung HD TV. In addition to streaming, A major Cable Company is included. We are very High Tech The unit has a High Speed Internet Connection with a wireless router making web contact especially convenient. A new 65" Samsung HD really Smart TV was added in the living room in May 2019\. All the major streaming services are available so don't forget your passwords. Incredibly vivid picture. The Poipu Beach Area Poipu Beach is Kauai's most desirable area and was recently rated the #1 beach in all of America. You will love your stay at the Makahuena and in particular in this condominium. The unit is easily large enough for two (even 3) couples to share with adequate privacy. We were on the first floor and still had such a beautiful pool. The 3 bedroom condo was so spacious. The furniture was super comfortable and didn't have that "worn out" look like some place do. My only complaint was the coffee table. It has a clear glass top which makes if tricky to get around if you're not paying attention. One corner is chipped pretty badly and my 89 year old mom cut her leg on it. We ended up setting items on the corners so we'd remember the glass top was there. Other than that it was AMAZING!! The view was incredible, and the condo had everything we needed for a comfortable trip. The pool was amazing—our kids loved spending time there. We also enjoyed cooking dinner in the fully equipped kitchen and relaxing out on the patio in the evenings. We had plenty room for our Ohana and we appreciated the well equipped kitchen and laundry. You can walk to the point and watch the sunrise in the morning (my favorite part). The condo had beach gear available to use that is perfect for spending the days on at the beach and enjoying the sun and ocean. The condo is all one level which was helpful for our family. The air conditioning worked really well. For those that air conditioning is important, this condo will be perfect for you! The ocean view from the lanai was great. A perfect place to have your morning coffee. The close proximity tot he pool and hot tub was also very nice. The kitchen had items we needed to make many of our meals there at the condo. Great condo - It was roomy for a group of 6 and had everything we needed. Appreciated the beach chairs, umbrellas, and boogie boards. Really appreciate the pool toys. Beautiful view from the lanai .Not a fan of the glass tops on the tables, very sharp edges. One of the glass tops was chipped with scotch tape on it. Everything was clean and fully stocked. The neighborhood was beautiful and quiet. The private trail was stunning to watch sunrises and sunsets with many sea turtles. Such a great location. The location exceeded our expectations with perfect viewing for sunrises, sunsets and even whale and sea turtle sightings! The kids loved playing in the pool daily and it was just a short 3 min drive to several beaches. Every single bed was very comfortable and clean.
