Think this hotel is just getting back on its feet after Covid, the hotel is split between a road so half towards beach and half up the mountain/hill, as it’s just starting to open again there was no restaurant or bar hillside only on the other side near beach. Wasn’t a problem for us as we hired a scooter to get around and get supplies. We had a couple of problems with air conditioning and the plug in bath but they were rectified immediately, staff were very kind and helpful. Would definitely stay again but would rather be on the beach side. The lack of dining within the residence was a major disappointment. The pools appeared to have some kind of (lack of) cleaning issues and really weren't inviting to swim in or sit around. It was a few klm out of the hustle and bustle of Chaweng, which makes it peaceful, but if you want to go shopping, partying, dinning.. be prepared to get a taxi everyday or hire alternative transport (motorbike or car).etc. Now for those that are struggling with their fitness or have other health issues, the entire site is located on a steep hillside, so be prepared for a mildly grueling - steep walk to your villas. Value for money, ok. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the grounds were well kept. Just a few points to be aware of: Bungalows are up a very steep hill. If you have any mobility issues, this is not for you. All the amenities (reception, pool...) are near the bottom of the hill. The advertised on-site restaurant was closed (we stayed during off season so not sure if one is usually open) and there are no daytime dining options within walking distance. We ended up hiring a scooter from the shop across the road, I recommend this (good price and service) and it meant we were able to easily go up and down the hill, as well as get out to eat and to the beach. There is no TV or wifi in the accommodation. There is free wifi at reception and at the pool area. Although there was air conditioning in our villa, the design and build meant the unit struggled to keep the room cool. If you are OK with opening windows and closing curtains against the sun, this is not a huge deal. Lastly, watch out when ordering food or transport - there is another resort 20 minutes away with a similar name. In general this was a great experience. Obviously a luxury resort in its time, which is now a little tired. Vi endte med at checke ud morgenen efter og finde et andet hotel på øen. Man får sin egen private lækker hytte. Toilettet er SÅ flot. Værelset er rummetligt og lækkert. Adgangen til hytterne er meget stejl. Dur ikke til gangbesværet gæster. Næsten privat flot strand. 2 pools områder. Mega flot udsigt. Det er nødvendigt at leje scooter eller taxi for at komme ud til steder - findes via hotellet. Trafikken er ikke slem. Got on location to have them tell me had I contacted them before we arrived they would have done something, I said I tried through the Expedia messaging and through their website directly and was told they don’t check emails! Very few amenities at the resort without having to take a taxi somewhere else. No towels for the pool. Coffee shop at the hotel is closed down. Upper pool was scummy and not clean. Lower pool bar and restaurant don’t open until late. The entire resort needs upkeep. The deluxe room we stay in, had no hot water for five days and when they finally done something about it, we only had Luke warm at best. All the lampshades within the room were dirty with years worth of dust and grime. This added to the fact the room was dark even with all the lights on. There were dirty stains within the granite type floors in the bathroom leading in from the external shower and to the sink. Around the pools, the sunbed cushions were frayed and stained, the Jacuzzi was broken with the control button which lifted away in your hands. On the first day we charged a large deposit for pool towels. Which was fine but for the fact that one of the towels that they gave us had paint stains on it. The resort is built on a very steep hill which you need to be fit to walk up and down the 1 in 3 concrete road as the stair were dangerous to walk on with many a trip hazard and poorly lit. There are a couple of good things about this resort.
