Could be better if there is a pantry for simple cooking with an individual sink. Will return to this hostel when revisiting Mt. As soon as I arrived, I was welcomed by the friendly staff, who all spoke English. I was shown a tour of the hostel which was helpful and got to choose which bed to stay in (tip - don't sleep next to the dehumidifier, it's got a constant hum, the hostel is not to blame for this!). Michael was very helpful when providing info and tips about climbing Mount Fuji, without his guidance I wouldn't have been able to climb. Nice and quiet area which has good transport links within walking distance. The staff were warm and friendly but misunderstood us and directed us incorrectly. That was frustrating. The place was clean and comfortable besides the strange room smell and poor lighting. The hostel is really nicely laid out, very clean, close to lots of food options (restaurants, supermarkets and convenience stores) - and has an incredible view of Mount Fuji from the communal indoor and outdoor spaces. But at least my bed was squicking all night long even if i moved the neck a bit, so for people with light sleep like me it was a rough night.
