About this property

Humble Harborview Home in Kodiak

  • Imagine a private escape on an Alaskan island where virtuous mountains meet perilous sea, the people are real and seafood is fresh. Find a remarkable place to lay your head amidst your wildest imaginations. This home was built in the 1940’s and located in the close knit neighborhood along the hill above town. A generous number of stairs takes you to a million dollar view. Kick back on the deck, inhale the fresh sea air while capturing dramatic scenery. Enjoy town life and an active fishing port, or warm-up in the small, cozy, crooked but functional home that might remind you of the 'Old Village'.

    The space
    A small one-bedroom has 2 single luxurious, down comforter, foam beds, a cozy couch, a big kitchen, shower, washer, dryer and last but not least a great deck to soak in the fresh air.

    Guest access
    The whole house is yours. Enjoy.
    You will also have pretty close neighbors, locals from around town and they are quiet.

    Other things to note
    There are about 35 steps up to the place, so packing lighter might be considered. Parking is on Cope Street and there are some houses with the same address, so I will give you plenty of instructions to avoid confusion.

Very cute place - would be great for a longer stay (mine was one night due to weather cancellation) - very clean, comfortable, great view and deck. Host had coffee/tea available, small snacks and oatmeal which was greatly appreciated, including some chocolates! Also appreciated the washer/dryer for use. Only negative would be the x3 wooden stair flights up to the place with luggage, but would definitely stay here again but for longer!

Tonya is a friendly, helpful host! While she is still updating the property it is neat, clean and nicely decorated. The best part is the wonderful view of the bay!

Fabulous! Premiere location with awesome view. Harbor is literally a few minutes walk down the hill. Nicely appointed with thoughtful touches. Really enjoyed my stay.

Great place and great location

Fantastic property! We had a great time there. The location is superb! We will definitely stay here again the next time we travel to Kodiak! Tonya was extremely pleasant to work with and she makes a yummy rhubarb crisp!!
