Great location but house needs improvement
There are both positives and negatives about staying here. The location of our place was great! Loved the quiet neighborhood and how close we were to everything. The grocery stores, Walmart, urgent care, etc. is just a few minutes away and a couple min away by car to the beach with free parking. The house was very big and we appreciated the view and light from all the windows. We spent a lot of time together in the great room and loved the pool table. We loved the master bathroom shower, very big with 2 shower heads! The covering for the 2 cars to pull into was very helpful. We are not a very high maintenance family, but there were also some negatives to mention. The locks were annoying and even though there’s a sign that explains how to use them, it was not easy. The deck boards were so old. The furniture on the deck near the living room was so rusted and dangerous. If you bumped up against one of the chairs you would definitely cut yourself. The furniture in the basement was very old and needs replaced. There was no hot tub cover so when it rained, it was filled with leaves and bugs and the water would just overflow. I called to ask for a cover or at least a small net to clean it out and they sent someone out to put an oversized tarp and bungee cord over the top, so anytime we wanted to use it, it was a hassle. The heating element didn’t completely work so you couldn’t change the temperature, but it was warm enough to use. In no exaggeration whatsoever there were at least about 100 tiny dead frogs floating in and at the bottom of the pool. I had to frequently clean them out and everyday there were more. We were very disappointed in this because we imagined ending our days by the pool. I think 2 kids swam in the pool only a couple times. It was just gross. I didn’t call to complain because I felt there was no point considering how they handled the hot tub situation. The price was a bit lower to rent the place, so that was a plus. I just wish we knew ahead of time what the reasons were. We did have a very nice time, but when you pay a lot of money for vacation, even at a better price comparatively, you shouldn’t have to deal with these issues. We didn’t let it ruin our time and like I said there were many positives about the house and location as well.
