This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Close to the beach, stores, and restaurants, we enjoyed every day to the fullest. The neighborhood was quiet, relaxing, and amazing to walk around in the evenings. The house is spacious and well equipped with everything you need. Beds were comfortable and everything was clean! A short walk, bike, or drive to the beach. We biked into Duck, about a 2 mile ride. We loved the pool (which was clean and perfect) and everything about the home itself. We enjoyed the beach daily and loved that it took us maybe 5 minutes to walk there. The turtle ponds on either side of the walk were a treat for our kids. Access was wonderful and the beach itself was beautiful. We also loved being able to access the sound right down the street and had a nice quiet family walk there on our last day of vacation. It was close to Duck for nice meals and walks on the boardwalk. It was also close to a grocery store, which was helpful because we cooked most of our meals at the house. The kitchen had just about everything we needed (the only thing that would be nice is a pair of tongs, and some better cooking utensils, but we made do). The vacation was a perfect reset for us after a stressful school and work year. Thank you for opening your beautiful home to us! ##### Jesse S.
