I'll review the listing description for clarity regarding 3 levels and stairs. The house is built to code and is inspected by the County of Maui. Railings and stairs are compliant. I do ask guests if they are comfortable with stairs. In this case I was told the elderly person was capable. We've had many repeat guests in their 70s who have not said anything about the stairs. I am still baffled as to why I wasn't informed immediately of the fall and of others slipping. I could have had my manager come to the house and discuss solutions with these guests. If guests want to avoid entryway stairs or indoor stairs, the lower bedrooms can be accessed by parking in the driveway in front of the garage door. The lower driveway and rooms are on the same level, without any stairs. There's an outdoor kitchen and large teak dining table on that level. Regarding the air conditioning, the lower floor AC system is separate from main and upper floor. It has always worked well and is on a separate thermostat from the main. The main (upper floors) system was completely replaced with a new Bosch system in 2021. I just removed that very old note from the instruction binder in the house. All AC systems work fine.

hi Jennifer glad you had a great time! You found the best snorkel locations. No need to take the boat trip from the harbor. The locations you listed are where the snorkel boats anchor.

The 6 person is a Maui County rule listed in VRBO rules. We are not a hotel. Heidi never asked about visitors. We discovered the extra people when a man was screaming into his phone & said he is staying at the house. He was not on the guest list. After stopping the screaming when a neighbor confronted him, he stopped, then started again before 4 people in a car came to get him. Then there were 3 extra cars during the day, one blocking the lower driveway, then on the next day people in the swimming pool. I called Heidi about the man, then I had to call again the next morning about people not registered in the pool. The washer did cause a problem. It was not replaced during the stay because a few days later, an adult in the group said the washer was fine and didn't need to be replaced during their stay. It's difficult to get appliances immediately (most anything these days) in Maui. Washer AND dryer were replaced after Heidi departed, even though the dryer was not reported as an issue. Regarding bugs, this was an anomaly. Professional pest control treats the house frequently but in this case we had to treat it 2x. The next morning we cleaned the room & changed all bedding. Lastly, we had an enormous amount of extra cleaning to do, and had to ask the next guests to give us a couple more hours to finish. There were stains on chairs, deck cushions. I will need to bring in a pro to clean the chair deck cushions. These are the kind of people I don't want at the house. We spend an enormous amount of money keeping everything to high standards. I feel taken advantage of by this guest.

We have 6 days till next guests arrive and started remodeling the bathroom today.. We also removed furniture from the bedroom to give more space. Thank you! Mark

Lauren's group had the worst week of weather in 25 years. 12 + inches of rain fell at the top of the mountain and like she said, everything on the island was shut down. I felt bad for her! The house wasn't damaged at all. Normally all water drains through the canyon next door, but in this storm, a retaining wall on the street above broke sending water in a different direction. I inspected the wall. It wasn't built properly and was built without a County permit. We cleaned out the pool and all the yard debris in 1 week with 2 excavators and 5 guys including myself. The pool had 1 - 2 feet of mud in it. We cleaned it completely, pressure washed it and refilled it. The extent of cleaning was using a shop vacuum to remove the last bit of mud. Fortunately no rocks washed into the pool, and we had it built with a high strength plaster called Hydrazzo that didn't get damaged. We're going to drain it and clean it again this week (1/9/2022). All of the rock, mud and trees were taken to the street and hauled away by the County. The yard is back to normal. There was so much water and debris when the wall broke, that it filled a pool with mud on the street below. In North Kihei, hotel and condominium pools were completely filled with mud, and parking lots unusable. I've been at the house during some really bad storms and nothing like this ever happened. It's clear the only reason this happened is because the neighbor's wall broke.
