We loved the island and the property. Easy walk to the beach, easy ride to the grocery, attentive staff, and even though we didn’t utilize the beach equipment credit it was a nice option.
The location was perfect, quiet enough for some peace but within easy walking distance to the beach. The area had 2 large rental homes being built so there was some construction noise. It probably wouldn't have prevented me booking this house though as it wasn't en masse but just a couple of building sites.Sadly, Isle of Palms is being transformed into an area of large, luxury rental homes which obstruct views of the ocean. While more attractive than hotels, the natural scenery of dunes, beach and ocean has been encroached upon which is too bad. We still took daily walks on the long strand though which was delightful! The house itself was comfortable and the kitchen very well stocked with equipment as we do like to cook rather than constantly eat out. The bed in the main bedroom seemed smaller than a queen and had polyester sheets which made us very hot. My husband and I took it in turns to use the sofa bed which was much more comfortable. I managed to find a cotton bedsheet which helped as that, too, was supplied with polyester sheets. So, if that's important to you, bring your own sheets! The property manager was responsive and helpful, for instance dropping off a vacuum cleaner very quickly when I couldn't find one. It's another sign of the times that VRBO used to be a service used by individual property owners. This area seems to be more corporately run. I believe the owners use such services which may be more efficient but it's more commercial and less personal.
Nice rental property that had what we were looking for; nice great room, comfortable beds, well appointed kitchen. It was quite close to the beach as well. Highly recommend!
House is exactly as shown. Very quaint well stocked kitchen. We took advantage of the beach bikes credit and they were great. this home is right near a beach access so is very convenient no having to worry asout parking. Only negative i can say is the yard is not usable for pets it is full of sand burrs. we licked at least twenty a day from our dogs paws and he swallowed some trying to get them out of his feet causing a whole lot of other issues. this really needs addressed. Other than that and the refrigerator making so much noise it made nights difficult to sleep. Lots of construction in the area so was loud all day every day. but that is no fault of the homeowners. If the yard were fixed we'd def stay here again.
The location of this house is perfect, just a couple of minutes walk to the beach. The check in process was a breeze, took less than 5 minutes. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. No issues at all, the neighborhood was very quiet and the location was perfect with just a short drive into Charleston. Highly recommend!
We liked how we could walk to the beach within minutes and the beach was not crowded. We also rented bicycles and found the area easy to navigate and took advantage of the free tennis and pickleball courts at the recreation center a few blocks away on 28th Street. Also, the marina is a few blocks in the other direction on 41st and there is a great restaurant and Coastal Adventures where we went on a fabulous kayaking tour.
My mom, myself, and my adult daughter spent a lovely relaxing weekend together here. We found the home to be welcoming and clean, with comfortable furnishings and a fabulous large front porch. The beach is a little walk through the neighborhood and across the dunes. We were able to find a few larger beautiful shells on the beach, and enjoyed several hours relaxing by the ocean. The beach was not over populated in peak hours, and mornings we had it to ourselves. It is a dog friendly beach :-) Isle of Palms is a great location, and we found several seafood restaurants nearby as well as breakfast options. We did no cooking on our getaway, but we did use the fridge and coffee maker. There were adequate dishes and cookware if you are planning to cook. We would consider staying here again!
Great location as this house is only one block over from the beach! The closest beach access is also a boardwalk so that was a pleasant surprise. The house itself is nice overall, and is located on a very quiet street. The kitchen was well-stocked with cookware and dishes, but didn’t have any spices or other shelf-stable items. Our only complaint was the beds! They were all old and worn-out, and really need to be replaced. I agree with a previous review in that the “queen” bed is actually smaller than a queen, and is most likely a full. I also agree with that person in the polyester blend sheets making it very hot. This could also due to the fact that the AC unit could not be set below 70 due to the risk of the unit freezing up. The window unit in the living room didn’t do much other than blow warm air around. Overall, we would stay here again due to the great location, but bedding and AC upgrades would really increase the property value.

Disliked: Cleanliness, communication, location
Wasn’t impressed with house, location or manage company
Home was ok. Location not great . Communication with management , less than desirable.
Maybe ok if you didn’t have pets but they do advertise as pet friendly , not my experience.
Left me a voicemail saying the neighbor told them I had two pit bulls . There wasn’t a breed or size requirement that I saw. I always pay pet fees and don’t have any problem paying any fees for my fur babies . Would not ever feel comfortable to book this house or any listing with them again .
Nice place to chill. We weren't using the house for eating so don't really know about how well stocked it is, nor were we looking for the latest technology. We did run short on laundry detergent and had to buy kleenix.
The property was just as listed, 1 block from the beach and in a quiet neighborhood. Perfect for a family vacation. Only downside is that it would benefit from a good cleaning. I realize it's a busy season, but more attention to cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms would do a lot of good.
Great vacation though, and really no major complaints.
We had a wonderful vacation at this property! We were traveling with two small kids, and the location was absolutely ideal for an easy walk to the beach with them. The house was super clean and comfortable. The porch was wonderful to hang out on. We cooked almost every meal and the kitchen supplies made it super easy. We've been coming to IOP for a few years and this was the best place we've stayed. Couldn't ask for anything more!
This is a well equipped beauty, well situated mid island. It is not beach front, and no you cannot hear the ocean from it, but it is in a nice neighborhood and there is a nice screened veranda to sit on with plenty of seating to use. The house has seen some hard use. Meaning? You can see where other guests have been careless. Paint chipped at the floor board from being banged into (especially in the bedrooms). In the twin room it looked like someone's child drew on the wall behind the door and they tried to scrub it off. The light switches are oddly placed, but you get used to it. There's a full bathroom in the living room. That sort of thing. But, the house is very clean. Professionally decorated. Nice floors. We had a nice stay. It's a block to the beach. An easy drive to Charleston and CHS. I would definitely stay here again.
We did a girls weekend in this house and enjoyed it's quirky layout and clean rooms. The updates make this cute little old house feel very clean and visitor friendly. The kitchen was nice to use on the occasion we didn't run into Charleston for dinner. You simply can't beat the location if you want to enjoy the beach but be a quick drive away from all the historical features. The yard was a bit sandy but everything we needed was there and functional!
This property worked great for our family of four. It was very clean and comfortable with a short walk to beach access. We also loved that it was in a quiet residential area. We would stay here and rent from Carroll Realty again!
We had a great stay. The location is definitely the best part. A block off the beach. Far enough away from the pier and all the condos so the beach isn't overcrowded. The place itself will fit every need you have while not at the beach. My only two comments are that the bathtub does not drain well and the dishwasher doesn't always clean everything loaded inside. Other than that, we had a wonderful stay!
The property was nice and neat. Towels and toiletries were provided, check-in and check-out was a breeze, and I couldn't have asked for a better location. I could hear the ocean from the house, and we were a 5 minute walk (even with kids) from the beach. I easily found everything that I needed. I would definitely stay here again!
Nice little beach house that is steps from the ocean
We loved staying at this beach house on Isle Of Palms. We stayed for 9 nights, and it was great. It's literally 1-2 minute walk to the ocean, just have to cross Palm Blvd and you are there. There are 2 entrances right next to the house which was really convenient for our littles. This little 2 bedroom house was perfect for our family. The kitchen is full of appliances, pots/pans, silverware, coffee pot. We brought our own paper plates/bowls and silverware to avoid dirty dishes everyday. There is a gas grill available, with an extra propane tank so we did some grilling a few nights. The bathrooms were clean and the water pressure is fine. The bedrooms are decent, the beds are a little uncomfortable and the queen is small especially if you have a kid in the bed. The TV works fine and has all your apps on it Netflix, Hulu, etc. The porch is very relaxing, we spent a lot of time just sitting in rocking chairs when our kids were sleeping.
Recommendations for the property:
- Address the ant hills and dirt in the yard, the ants are taking over. Our kids wanted to run around in the front and back yard but we didn't let them after they got bit a few times by ants.
- A king bed for one of the bedrooms, the queen is too small and uncomfortable.
- Be a little more flexible with early check in, we tried checking in only 1 hour early (after a 15 hr road trip) and had to wait.
Recommendations for food:
- Try out the IOP Marine, it's about 3 min drive from the house, we discovered this the last day we were here.
- Try out Sullivans Island and Shem Creek. About 10-15 min drive, great outdoor options and amazing food.
- Stop at Harris Teeter on the island to get some food to grill and stock up on beer :)
Overall, we loved it here and will be returning next year!
Thank you so much!
