Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Ikuji?
The best time to go to Ikuji, Toyama Prefecture, Japan, is during the spring (April to May) or autumn (September to November) for pleasant weather and beautiful scenery.

Spring offers mild temperatures, great for exploring the Kurobe Gorge and its surroundings. The landscape comes alive with fresh greenery, and the melting snow from the Tateyama mountain range feeds the rivers, creating impressive waterfalls. This season is particularly good for those who enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and sightseeing without extreme heat or cold.

Autumn is another excellent choice, especially for those who appreciate stunning natural beauty. The mountains and valleys around Ikuji are ablaze with vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows as the leaves change colour. The air is crisp, and the temperatures are comfortable for exploring. It's an ideal time for photography and enjoying the scenic rail journeys through the gorge.

While summer (June to August) is warm and can be good for water activities, it can also be quite humid and rainy.
Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?
Many Expedia hotel reservations are refundable, provided that you cancel before the hotel's cancellation deadline – this is often within 24-48 hours of your scheduled arrival. If you have a non-refundable booking, it might still be possible to receive a refund if you cancel it within 24 hours of booking. Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy.
