  • If you are looking for a place to stay on The Homer Spit overlooking The Homer Harbor this is the place for you. It is Located directly behind The Salty Dawg Saloon and upstairs from The Salty Girls gift shop.
    Enjoy all of the benefits of the spit life~ watching the boats come in and out of the Harbor right from the living room windows, beach walks, great restaurants, gift shops, watching The Buttwhackers fillet fish and spending time at The Salty Dawg Saloon.
    This cozy one bedroom upstairs apartment offers everything that you need to make yourself at home.
    Kitchen has pots, pans, dishes, silverware , glasses, coffee pot, tea kettle and is stocked with misc cooking utensils etc.
    Bathroom is shower with bathtub and is supplied with toiletries . There is also a washer and dryer located in the bathroom.
    The bedroom has a queen size bed with full linens , blackout shades and plenty of room for you to store clothes.
    Living room has a reclining chair , reclining loveseat, smart tv system, monitor heat to keep you warm
    The views are absolutely spectacular from every window . You will not be disappointed.
    The Salty Dawg does have live bands that play out on the back deck throughout the summer so noise level can get loud at times. This location is not for someone who is looking for a quiet place to stay.

What a cool spot to stay

Can’t think of a better place to stay on the Homer Spit . Close to all the bars great food, places across the street and the beach in the harbor can’t beat it

If you’re looking for a place to stay in, Homer absolutely book this VRBO! It is beautiful, overlooking the harbor with easy access to shopping and, of course, THE Salty Dawg Saloon!Communication with the host was exceptional and the accommodations were above expectations. Everything is spotlessly, clean and in “like new condition”I would rate this among the best places to stay on the Homer Island Spit if not the best place to stay!

Had a quick one-night stay here. Donna was quick to answer any of my queries, and everything went smoothly from check in to check out. The property is in a primo location on the Spit- steps away from the Salty Dawg and harbor. Great harbor views sitting out on the deck, spacious & clean interior. Would definitely stay here again!

A fabulous stay in an amazingly located property. The views from the deck are beyond compare. A really comfortable place to soak up Homer. I have no hesitation in recommending this property.

Donna was an incredible host. We had the best time staying her rental. Not only was it clean, it had everything we needed for our stay. Some places can be stingy with towels/blankets. Not here!!! Also location is a major plus. Close to everything and a great deck over looking the marina.

CLEAN!!! And GREAT Location!

We've stayed in many VRBO's, none cleaner than this one. The view of the harbor is breathtaking! It rained through much of our stay, but I'm sure the deck would have been a great place to hang out on a sunny day. We were forewarned about possible late-night noise from the Salty Dawg next door, but that did not bother us at all. I WILL stay here again if possible.

Great rental on Homer spit

We loved our stay here. Great to be right where the action is. Seeing the boats coming and going in the harbor, a seal and sea otter joined at times as well. Apartment is very comfortable with a beautiful kitchen. Comfortable bed. We appreciated having tea, coffee, salt and pepper and our favorite chocolate. Thanks Donna!

Authentic Homer Spit experience

A wonderful property located behind the Salty Dawg. Wake up to amazing views of the harbor along and sip coffee on the porch watching the marine layer burn off over the sound. Highly recommended to anyone wanting a unique experience.

Probably the best view from the spit. The afternoon show, watching the pro fish filet teams after the boats came back was great. Fully equipped kitchen. Easy walk to all restaurants and shops on the spit. Parking just downstairs from the porch.

Beautiful, cozy apartment

We loved this cozy apartment, in the middle of all the action. We enjoyed just sitting on the deck watching the action of the harbor. Perfect location to just stroll the spit. Beautiful, well maintained apartment. The caretaker checked in with us a few times throughout the week and even gave us a few recommendations of things to do and see.

Great location and beautiful apartment. All the amenities needed, comfortable bed and amazing view. Sit on the deck and watch the boats, buttwackers cleaning fish out back and Salty Dawg. Walk to anything on the spit. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Fantastic location and beautiful rental!

We loved staying here for our first trip to Alaska! The location is just unbeatable. We saw bald eagles and sea otters right from the front deck. Easy to park and we loved the access to ask the shops and the boats for our excursions. Seeing the fish get processed out back was so cool and yes you can hear a little noise from the Saloon behind the rental but it did not bother us at all. Highly recommend!!

My husband and I loved it here! Right off the back deck you can watch them processing huge fish. We found it entertaining! It was pretty loud being right behind the Saloon but we were fine with that and liked being in the middle of it all. Shops and restaurants were walkable. We had a great time. Donna was very responsive and a pleasure to speak with.

Location! Location! Location!

Great location in the heart of Homer! Walk to shops, restaurants, and the beach. The host, Donna, came to greet us and made sure we had everything we needed. She is so responsive and friendly! The rental is updated, clean, and very comfortable. It has everything you need. We loved sitting on the deck and looking out over the marina at all the boats. Looking out the bedroom window to watch the fish be brought in and cleaned was a surprising bonus. We will be back for sure!

Great place to stay on Homer Spit!

We stayed a Friday & Saturday night and were a bit worried about what noise we might hear, especially from the neighboring saloon. But it was no issue at all! The place was quiet, cozy, large, comfortable and clean! The only slight issue was that one day, someone had parked in the designated parking spot, so we had to park in the neighboring lot ($10). But no biggie, it was still close. Great place to stay to be right on the spit and close to the action.

Homer Spit

PERFECT for us. The property sit right at Ramp 1 of small boat harbor. Panoramic windows allows views of a working fishing town. Halibut charters are literally right across the street. There boats are literally right down ramp in front of house. Shops and restaurants are close walking distance and not to mention the breathtaking mountains and bay. I could stay a month here…or a lifetime. House was rustic Homer on the outside but was clean and modern on the inside. Comfortable and spacious front room, modern well equipped kitchen, clean bathroom with laundry pair and bedroom was clean, comfortable and spacious. If you coming to Homer Spit, this is the ONLy place to stay. Your host Donna was friendly, welcoming and a host of knowledgeable (see what I did there, haha). All questions were answered almost immediately. Wonderful location, wonderful property, wonderful hostess. Could not have asked for a better stay. Thanks Donna.

Amazing Location, Views & Host!

We have visited Homer Spit before in 2022. A quaint fishing town with amazing scenery. We could not help but be mesmerized by the views & decided to return in July 2024, this time to stay in a location where we could see all the boats ~ docked, heading out with anticipated excitement or heading back in with grins from ear to ear of their catch. We found an impressive 2nd story vacation rental with incredible views. The best part was WE were the ONLY ones with this view. We could see EVERYTHING in all directions from inside or from outside on the large, elevated deck. The rental is newly renovated, very roomy & was a perfect amount of space for my wife & me. In a fishing town, people park anywhere they can. Thankfully, Donna had reserved a spot for us right near the stairs of the rental. A stackable washer/dryer & soap was located inside the unit, as well as a full kitchen amenities & coffee/tea, etc. This location had the perfect vantage point for anything we wanted. We were close to restaurants, shopping, fishing, a great bar called the Salty Dawg Saloon, & if we wanted to, we could watch the day’s catch being brought up from the boats to be photographed with the angler’s who reeled them in, all of this from a second story vantage point. Did I mention we had the BEST view on the spit? Donna was an outstanding host & was very quick to reply with any questions we had. She genuinely wanted us to have the best experience we could & made us feel incredibly special.
