Nestled in the peaceful Mirror Lake community of Highlands, NC, this 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath house boasts an exceptional mountain view you can enjoy from both the living area and fabulous screened in back porch. Enjoy your morning coffee as you watch the sun rise over the mountains or an evening meal at the porch table once it is fresh off the large gas grill. You can also utilize the fully furnished kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops while watching the fire dance in the gas fireplace. The house sleeps 8 with high quality linens and there is a cozy en suite bathroom for the master bedroom. To know before booking: \* The AC units are portable, to use if necessary where you need it. This home is close enough to town yet is nestled in the mountains with a fabulous view. It’s a quick drive into town on winding roads that require caution. We loved sitting on the large, comfortable screened back porch as the sun rose looking out over the misty valley and mountains. We filled the bird feeder and watched a wide variety of birds come to visit. The house had everything we needed and was comfortable. The portable AC units are loud but luckily we didn’t need them. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived, and is very spacious with a California King size bed in the master bedroom, (very comfortable) as well as several other large beds, and two bunk beds for kids. The kitchen has the most modern appliances, and is well stocked with dishes, cookware, utensils, etc. It's just a 10 minute drive from downtown Highlands, so it's very convenient for stores, shops, and restaurants. It's located part-way up a small mountain side, but access is easy with all paved roads. They are a bit narrow and steep, but you quickly get used to the drive. The home has a garage where you can pull a vehicle in and close the garage door at night. That makes loading and unloading luggage and other items easy and convenient. The scenery around the home is beautiful, with mountain views looking out the back, and a forested road looking out the front. We took day trips around the area for shopping, meals out, and photography, and had a great time. I would highly recommend this rental home to anyone who enjoys the mountains and color of North Carolina! ##### Jim G. This property had it all. It was bright and well decorated with plenty of room to spread out. We had everything we needed. The towels were abundant, thick, and luxurious. The beds were super comfortable. Perfect for resting from long days of hiking and sightseeing. The kitchen had great non stick pots, a waffle maker, and all the cooking and baking tools you could need. As an added bonus, it was well stocked with condiments, herbs and spices. And the view was so beautiful, especially in the morning at sunrise. Best of all, it took only 6 minutes to get to Main Street Highlands for great dining and shopping.
