Newly built and fully fenced in. Perfect for a quiet get away. Enjoy a hot cup of coffee in the morning while watching the sunrise. Enjoy an evening with family and friends by the fire pit while the kids play in the field. Close to town and many springs. Close to the Santa Fe canoe outpost and I75 🌿 Local Recommendations Here are a few of my favorite spots to visit (and eat!) while you’re here in beautiful High Springs: 🏞️ Springs & Outdoor Adventures 1\. Gilchrist Blue Springs One of the clearest and most scenic springs in the area. I highly recommend renting a paddleboard and spending the day exploring the spring run and river — it’s peaceful, beautiful, and a true Florida gem. 2\. Ichetucknee Springs About a 25-minute drive, but absolutely worth it. Float down the crystal-clear Ichetucknee River on a tube — it’s relaxing, fun, and one of the best ways to experience Florida’s natural beauty. 3\. Poe Springs A quieter spot that’s great for swimming, picnics, and a slower pace. Perfect for families or a peaceful afternoon in the water. 4\. Ginnie Springs Famous for its vibrant blue water and underwater caves. Great for swimming, snorkeling, or just lounging by the spring. It can get busy, but it’s definitely worth seeing at least once. ⸻ 🍽️ Where to Eat Spinwiches – A local favorite for sandwiches, wraps, and salads. Fresh and fast — perfect for lunch before hitting the springs. The Great Outdoors – A charming spot with Southern-inspired meals, live music, and a cozy patio. Great for dinner or a relaxing night out. Colsie’s Sweet Treats – A cozy bakery and coffee shop with amazing pastries, cookies, and espresso drinks. A perfect morning stop. El Patio – Delicious and authentic Mexican food in the heart of town. Try the fajitas! High Springs Brewing Company – A must-visit for craft beer lovers. Most places closer to the school were booked or super expensive as expected. This place was further out, but still close enough to make it work. I imagine its perfect for trips to the springs. It had enough bedrooms and baths to accommodate my friends and I, it looked decently well-appointed in the photos, and the price was very reasonable. Upon arriving, it was definitely a bit off the beaten path, but we expected that. And ultimately the directions were clear and we felt safe, although secluded. The home had enough to make the stay comfortable, and although the host wasn't terribly responsive this wasn't a big deal. The only issue we had with our stay was the overall cleanliness. I have no way of knowing if what we experienced is typical, especially since there were so many amazing reviews. But it felt as though the place hadn't been properly cleaned in quite some time. What started off as a dingy odor and icky feeling became an absolute horror when we found dried white/ clear fluids on the bed linen, among other bed and towel stains, and more than a few roaches in the kitchen and bath. Again, I don't know if this is typical, as one good cleaning would take probably care of this. Perhaps we just came on a bad day. But it definitely sullied our overall experience of the home. ##### Alexis W. It was a pleasant retreat after spending our entire day jet skiing. Having ample parking for our ski and vehicles was wonderful. Another win was we didn’t worry about our property outside.
