Magnolia Pines is a beautiful industrial farmhouse home located inside the quiet, gated, retirement community of Holly Lake Ranch. It has everything you need to sleep 6 up to 15 in comfy beds. Our main house is a 2 bedroom/2 bath that sleeps 6. The bunkhouse is a separate garage apartment that is a 3 bedroom/1.5 bath that sleeps 10 (an add on of $150/night that will be charged after you book). For your convenience you can rent the main house or both structures. Since the bunkhouse does not have a kitchen we do not rent it on its own.

You can cuddle up and stay inside all weekend or venture out into the piney woods of East Texas and enjoy the numerous community amenities that Holly Lake Ranch has to offer. Our home is conveniently located just a block away from fishing, swimming pool, tennis, pickle ball, playground, walking trail, frisbee golf, putt putt golf, and a small sandy beach area to play in the lake. The 18 hole golf course, restaurant, and larger lake are within a 5 minute drive within the Ranch. We have equipment you can use while at our home. Holly Lake is a quiet community with the average resident being retired. This is not the place for a party weekend :)

Our main house has the living room with a tv, fully stocked kitchen, king master bedroom with full bath, and separate bedroom with 2 queens and a full bath. The Bunkhouse has a living area with tv, queen bedroom, and a full bath downstairs. The upstairs of the Bunkhouse has a king bedroom, bunk room with six twin beds, and a half bath. All lines and towels are provided. In addition to comfortable furnishings, our house offers two outside eating areas, fire pit with chairs, covered back porch, and a fenced in back yard with tall trees and room to kick or throw a ball around! There is Wi-fi and a washer/dryer for your use during your stay.

The perfect getaway for families! Lots of fun toys and space for the kids to play. Kitchen was well stocked and easy to cook in. Screen porch was perfect for meals. Comfy, cozy space in the main house and bunk house with plenty of seating inside and out.

Our family loves the spacious kitchen/living area. The hammock, swing, ping pong table, etc...help to keep my grandchildren of all ages busy and happy. The screened-in porch is also nice to visit and relax in. And the house is decorated so cute!

The living/kitchen area was perfect for our family get-together, and the porches and patio were a nice addition as well. Beds were comfortable, but stairs to two bedrooms were difficult for some family members to navigate. It would have been good to know in advance about security gate protocol.

With three families (seven kids), having the bunkhouse was great! The house is conveniently located to the neighborhood amenities (pool, pickleball, tennis, mini golf, etc.). The kitchen was well stocked, and we enjoyed our stay!

Needs Work/Updated Description

While the house was spacious and the bag patio was a big hit it needs some maintence asap. The biggest thing was that the bunkhouse was upstairs which had we known we would have booked elsewhere due to the small children. We had three out of the four kids fall down the stairs and one of them has mobility issues and he fell three times due to how absolutely steep and tall each stair was. Even the adults were unsteady. There was no working child gate to close off the bunk beds from the stairs. The wood on the stairs is splitting from the minuscule nails that are holding it together. There was also no way to use the grill or black stone as they were incredibly rusted and dirty but there was also nothing to clean them with. We also had to request to have dish soap delivered to be able to wash the dishes. The hot water heater on the bunkhouse is tiny and sucked nor is it up to code on the way it is installed outside the house. Lastly there is some kind of black/dark mold growing out of the shiplap on the ceilings in the main living room and of course the biggest thing of all. There was not a single smoke detector working in the house. Two were chirping when we got there and the rest (all of the ones in the main house) were uninstalled completely. Beautiful community and nice access to some of the amenities, would book with a different property tho.

Family get-away

Our family of 11 had a wonderful stay and really enjoyed our accomodations. Cooking, board games and puzzles at home...tennis courts, pickleball courts, badminton, playground, rustic putt-putt, and the nice, big pool each day. Favorites were the great bunk rooms with toys & books and the big webbed swing in the front yard! Nice, big countertop for puzzling from both sides. We saw deer every early evening! A great stay!!!

A spring break to be remembered

What a great place to enjoy spring break with our family! Beautiful house, great screened in porch, well stocked kitchen and bathrooms. Loved the many places to sit in front and back porch. Lots of fun things to do just at the house. (Although there weren't any ping pong balls for the ping pong table) grill was great! Right sink in master bathroom drained slow. Would definitely consider staying there again!

The magnolia house was perfect for our family christmas weekend!!! We also rented the bunkhouse so 3 familys grandparents fit perfectly on this property! The gated community was no trouble at all and honestly a plus. It was quiet and quaint and we even got a sweet surprise with a golf cart christmas parade and a visit from santa! All at the park located near the property where we also enjoyed a playground, pickleball and tennis, a fabulous walking circle ans many other amenities. Everything was beyond perfect. 100% recommend

Summary of our stay

We really enjoyed our time at Magnolia Pines. We had ample room for everyone and really enjoyed our time together and would definitely consider staying again. A few notes for the owners; just in case: * There were only 2 dish clothes which is not enough to clean dishes with 14 people and 3 home made meals per day. We purchased some and left them for the next visitors * Only two rolls of paper towel which we went through quickly since there was only two dish towels. We had to purchase more. * Ran out of toilet paper, we had to purchase more * The owners may want to have someone look at their roof. There are several water stains on the ceiling of the main house. * No hot water after the first day in the bunk house. We exchanged the propane takes and followed the directions to click the plug button, but that did not work. * The door to the garage was open when we arrived so we did not need to add the code. Overall, an amazing stay and simply mentioned the issues above as I would want to know this if I owned the home. Thanks! Heather

Eclipse Vacation

Family from Florida and Colorado met at this lovely vacation home for the chance to see the totality of the 2024 eclipse and it was well worth the trip. The host could not have been nicer or more responsive and the home was welcoming, relaxing and had everything we needed for our stay! We enjoyed then pool and there were plenty of other fun things to do at this private, secure community. If we plan another vacation in Texas, we will certainly stay here again. And the eclipse was amazing!
