The only odd thing is that there wasn’t a headboard on the bed. The staff was very kind! If you look at the window latch on the courtyard side of the room, it might say “made in occupied Japan” on the knob, which if you know your history, it should give you a solid idea on the age of the hotel. But the place is in great shape, seems freshly remodeled, and really is quite a treasure. The song of the night birds is mesmerizing! One word of caution for late arrivals though: everything in the village closes at 8PM or earlier. If you landed at Kona in the evening, and you want anything for the night, you better get it in Kona. I stayed in 12a&b and it was spacious and great for my family of 4 but could have easily accommodated few more kiddos. The hotel is older but very cute and fits with the old town vibe.
