"We had an unforgettable one-night stay as a family of four (younger kids). The Kaiseki dinner was delicious, and the breakfast was simply the best we had during our entire trip to Japan! We booked the renovated KIKU room, which felt like a stunning private suite complete with a private outdoor onsen and a lovely garden view. The futons were clean and comfortable. What truly set this ryokan apart was the attentive, hospitable staff. They were quick to respond to our inquiries, seamlessly handled our early luggage drop-off, noticed how much we enjoyed the roasted green tea at dinner and surprised us with a fresh teapot after setting up our futons for the night. They even invited our kids to feed the fish in the gorgeous main garden after breakfast. Highly recommended for a special Kyoto experience! A quick tip for future guests: amenities vary significantly across the property's different buildings and rooms. Some rooms have shared facilities or face the street. So I highly recommend carefully reading the specific room description, or reaching out to the staff to confirm the details before booking, to ensure the room matches your expectations."

"Staff helpful and luggage transfer service from Osaka to this hotel in Kyoto arrived same day and Kyoto- Tokyo Disney the next day . Hotel clean and tidy and room was the biggest Iv had in Japan definitely suitable for two adults. Shower was very powerful and room cleaned daily . Beds soft and tv had Netflix. Buffet breakfast was okay and would probably skip if your given the option it’s basically just eggs and bacon, miso soup and some pastries/ coffee/ tea . Better food to be had away from the hotel . Very far from stations and convenience stores about 10-20 minute walks and as a female solo traveller, Kyoto is quite dark when walking of a night so be aware . Close to nishiki market about 10-15 minute walk and 25 minute walk across the river to gion area. Two closest stations were Kyoto Shiyakusho-mae Station for the Tozai line and Karasuma Oike Station for the karasuma line (direct to Kyoto station for Shinkansen) both stations are 15 minute walks. Overall hotel was good for price and had everything you needed but just a little bit out of the way for transportation."
