Sofia Hotel

"This was a nice hotel and reasonably priced. I stayed here for four days with my 14 year old son. We travelled over from Ireland. It had a 24 hour reception and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There is also 24 hour access to a computer and printer. And it also has a bar. They make food sometimes. I tried twice but they weren't making food when I asked. Though you can get food delivered to the hotel with E Food app. The pool isn't that big, but it's still nice. You can only get into the pool from 10am until 7pm. They seem strict on the 10am part, but we stayed in after 7pm without any problems. My main issue was the breakfast isn't that great in my opinion. It could also do with more fruit. It's quite close to Heraklion airport and you do hear a lot of planes and you can actually see them overhead from the pool. I actually read this before I booked our trip. The planes do get less frequent as the night comes. Tbh, it didn't affect our sleep and I would still stay here again if I ever go back."

"I had an excellent time at Aquila Atlantis. The staff was helpful, the pool area was well maintained and gives an exceptional view of Heraklion, and the room was spacious and clean. Moreover, the breakfast selection was very good. "

"Very nice 5 star historical building. Fully updated with the latest amenities. Staff was amazing. Super friendly and helpful. Rooms were very spacious with all the amenities you could need. Remote controls for the 2 tv’s need new batteries. Pool area is very nice. 8/10 would highly recommend this place. Thanks for having us !"

"We had never been to Crete before and we have loved it. The hotel is in a beautiful setting with sea views. All the staff are fantastic, excellent service and incredibly helpful when organising excursions. The rooms we had were clean and met our expectations. Being slightly outside Agia Pelagia itself means that it is a little quieter but it is easy to get to the beach when you want to. The food we had at the hotel surpassed our expectations, breakfasts were plentiful of high quality and great variety. Evening meals were amazing, we ate at several taverna/restaurant by the beach at Agia Pelagia and the food was good, but the hotel restaurant quality and flavours were amazing. I have two teenage boys who would live on pizza and burgers given the chance but they loved their meals. That in itself is high praise. The service from George and his team was brilliant, we never met the chefs but a big thank you to them. The pianist on Monday evenings and Cretan night on Friday lent a special dimension to our stay and the latter was great fun. We were very sad to leave as we had an amazing holiday. "Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Lovely food, great amenities and the staff couldn’t do enough for you. The vibe is relaxed and it feels like there is a good amount of space so nowhere feels too crowded. We were there just as a couple but there were lots of families and children there but not to the point where it was disruptive if you’re just trying to have a relaxing time. Would definitely go back."

"Nice hotel, decent location close to local bus station and harbor. Wifi in our room had a poor connection. Elevators a little small, fridge in our room had a weird smell and safe was already locked (only stayed one night so didn't bother). Breakfast buffet was very good and staff very friendly and helpful. Herb garden restaurant on the 4th floor was excellent, nice view and great food."
