The people are so friendly and helpful (we had a tyre flat in nearby village of Poolewe and local garage in Gairloch, Forbes pick up and cleaner Janette helped us out so much). I would highly recommend if you like nature and be somewhat isolated from others. The beaches are stunning and Gairloch has everything you need. The mountain ranges and the different types of water (loch’s, waterfalls, sea) along west coast and also down onto the isle of Skye are soo picturesque and beautiful. Our room was freezing cold and it felt like the heating had not been on in days, The main external wall was really wet and damp, this would have not been an issue had the heating been used. There were no instructions on how to heat up the room so we used google. Once the room heated up it was fine and no issue, also the following morning the damp had then dried up. We enjoyed our dinner and breakfast at the hotel, and our room was very comfortable. Being there at the end of the season had its limitations and the hotel is in need of some basic repairs. We took the coast road back as the weather was worsening and the view non existent! Our room was very comfortable and cosy with underfloor heating in the bathroom. The honesty bar was great for stopping in the room (wine, beer, soft drinks, various snacks) - we came away with some of the lovely shortbread. Not to mention the welcome drinks which was a lovely touch. The B&B is right out of Applecross and so we took a drive back to the Applecross Inn for dinner with a lovely view out over the bay. Scottish breakfast was perfect and the locally smoked salmon was fabulous! It set us up for the day with a lovely a walk around Applecross before heading off the beat the incoming Amy."
