Being located on the road to Monte, which is only a couple of kilometres away, you can watch the famous Madeira wickerwork toboggans going down the hill nearby! Conveniently all on one level, the contemporary open-plan lounge, dining and kitchen lead via a naturally lit corridor to the three bedrooms, all of which feature air conditioning and under-floor heating, cable TV and benefit from the views to the ocean. The master bedroom has an en suite shower-room and the other bedrooms share the family shower-room. The whole frontage is the south facing solarium where you will find the heated infinity pool and sun-beds and the covered built-in barbecue and outdoor dining table, which overlook the wide garden below. Being only 500 metres below the leafy village of Monte, Vila da Portada is perfectly located to combine a holiday in Funchal with being close to nature and walking in Madeira. With everything you might hope for in a holiday rental, vllas in Madeira do not come more appealing than this! A supplement of 50€ per week applies for each additional degree up to a maximum of 26ºC Pool heating can be provided and should be requested at least one week in advance. Should it be requested after arrival at the villa, the minimum charge applicable is one week, which is payable from the time the heating is turned on. Nearby A café restaurant can be found 300 metres from Vila da Portada. On the lower Estrada do Livramento, 650m away is a small supermarket and a bakery/café 800m away. Funchal centre and harbour is 3km (20 minutes walk downhill to Funchal centre) and there is a regular bus service and the bus stop is just a few metres from the house. No matter where you go on the island you are rewarded by fabulous scenery, tiny villages and friendly people. With a population of over 100,000, Funchal is not only the capital, but also the 'heart' of Madeira and home to many of the islanders. This makes it a busy, chic, cosmopolitan and fun city, full of shops, shopping centres, bars, cafés and a great variety of restaurants and entertainment; a vibrant, cosmopolitan town where historic splendour and breath-taking natural beauty combine with a thoroughly modern atmosphere. For health reasons, linen for a baby cot is not provided and you should bring your own. Guests need to vacate the villa during a mid-stay clean and change of linen. Booking notes The rental value varies with the number of people occupying the property, so please ensure you enter the correct dates, number of adults, children and infants. Please note that supplements apply should additional people join you for any length of time. A security deposit of 300€ is required by credit card prior to check-in. To secure your reservation we require a 30% deposit, or the full amount if you are arriving within 8 weeks. The balance is due 8 weeks prior to arrival. Final details for check-in and driving instructions to the property will be sent 7 days prior to arrival. A contact number will be provided, and to be able to access the property, you need to phone this number as you are leaving the airport. It is your responsibility to contact and advise the number provided on the check-in details to advise any delays to the expected check-in time. Check-in times - at the property - are between 16H00 and 19H00\. For Sunday arrivals and out of hours check-in, alternative arrangements will be made and an additional cost will apply. Check-in and check-out flexibility will be applied where possible, but this will depend on housekeeping schedules and the departure and arrival days of other reservations either side of your stay; a definitive answer can only be provided within 24 hours of your arrival for check-in and your departure for check-out. Roque Monte”), keep to the right lane and slow down. Leave the Via rapida at exit 11, signposted “S. Roque and Monte”. Follow the slip road round, turning first right, then at the T-junction turn left signposted “Monte”. Continue for 1,4Km until you reach the roundabout and take first right, signposted “Monte S. Roque”. Drive up the hill and onwards for approximately 1,2Km until you reach a wide crossroad. Turn left uphill, signposted Monte Farmácia Continue for 1,8Km and as you reach a wide bend to the left (below the pink Hospital), turn right, signposted “Sanatórios Babosas”. Continue on this bendy road for 400m, passing a small bridge. Slow down, as you will be nearing your destination.
