This is a luxury property, and the pricing reflects that. The very high expenses in this area of the country (e.g., gas, food) drives the high cost of the property. Also a factor is the investment and upkeep of the 2,200 acres of private and well-maintained property.
The 2-hour UTV tour of the property was excellent. The food is exquisite, much of it locally sourced.
This has to be the most unique property I have stayed in. The attention to detail and amenities are outstanding, and the employees were so kind and helpful. The views are absolutely amazing. We want to come back in the winter for the crashing waves and hopefully some whale watching.
Breath taking views, great high end accommodations, excellent food.... Colby our evening waiter could not have made a better stay for us. He is very cool, yet refined, kind and respectful. Could not recommend this property enough. We will be back!!!
The Inn at Newport Ranch is by far one of the most relaxing, unique and beautiful locations that I have ever been to in Nor Cal. As a Bay area resident, I take many, many day trips and weekend getaways on the coast and surrounding areas. This was by far the best experience I have ever had. I booked the trip last minute for myself and my partner. From check in, to the friendliness of staff, to the location, it can only be described as perfect.
The attention and detail that has gone into the design of the Inn goes unparalleled. The Inn itself has every comfort and the staff really encourage you to feel at home and welcome.
The location is stunning. The Inn has over a mile of coastline with some of the best views I have ever seen in Nor Cal. It is located on over 2000 acres and has hiking trails in all kinds of environments form coastal, to redwoods, etc.
I can't recommend it enough. It is well worth the price.
We have talked about making it a yearly destination for us.
You will not find another Inn, another location or people like this anywhere else.
Just so good!
It’s a life changing experience. The scenery is espectacular. I highly recommend the tours, they are one of a kind experience. Frankie was our guide, he’s extremely knowledgeable and will provide you so much history of the place and background on the local ecosystem.
I liked the service and the meals were excellent. Some of the chairs in the rooms were uncomfortable and the configuration of the table and chairs was not ideal. Also, one of the hosts, named Ian was nice enough but bragged a lot about himself and his family. Thought it was a little inappropriate.
Perfect wild outdoors setting. Great panoramic views. Capt Quarters great room but too cluttered with stuff.
Breakfast great. Dinner great but should include a glass of wine.
Very nice property. My oe and only complaint was that they have a policy of no children. Yet, because they were catering to a business retreat group - kids were allowed. They were all over the breakfast area and it took away from the peaceful mood of the property. If you have a policy - stick with it!
The ranch style hotel is a quiet place to get away from everything. You can seat on the chairs at the cliffs to watch the waves smash on the rocks, bring some food and drink and a camera, you can be there all day. You can take a ATV tour of the ranch coast and trial, or you can walk the trail yourself, stopping at the view point to see the ocean under you feet. Or you can simply seat at the huge bay-window in the main dinning room and have drink.
The only drawback is the internet speed is a bit slow, since there is no TV in the ranch or any hotel room, the Internet should have fill the gap.,
Amazing property. The buildings are beautiful and the staff were personally great and attentive. Dinners and breakfasts were top notch. Nice family style dining. The property tour is informative and fun. Can’t wait to go back
The Inn provides a unique enjoyable experience that is likely unmatched on the Mendocino coast. From our arrival until our departure, we were made to feel like we were part of the family by the staff and owner. The room and main building are top-notch while the shoreline and surrounding area are spectacular. Highly recommend eating dinner at the Inn (Chef Singyn is incredible) and doing the ATV tour through the redwood forest.
This hotel/ranch is stunning. It sits on a bluff right on the ocean and therefore the views are amazing. The staff was attentive, the rooms large and high end amenities and toiletries. Our room had a kitchen and hot tub. We paid a little extra for dinner that night, which consisted of a freshly flown in Halibut, tender and juicy Filet Mignon, salad, and lovely wine options. All the guests gathered around a very large table and got to know one another while enjoying the fare. The owner was kind, attentive as was his staff.
Breakfast was included. Not just continental, but a large spread of goat cheese pancakes, bacon, fresh fruit, coffee, tea - it was all delicious.
My husband and I plan on going back.
Thank you Inn at Newport Ranch!
There is no place quite like Newport Ranch. The location is one of a kind that offered us a relaxing day topped off by happy hour at the main lodge. There are lots of paths to explore the coast and a great ATV ride around the 2000 acre ranch. The staff is so accommodating and are a wealth of knowledge about the history of the ranch and its' surrounding area. There are lots of wineries in the area if you decide to venture off the property.
This place is by far the most beautiful location we've had the privaledge of staying! It has enormous attention to detail that can be found in every room. Simply breathtaking views of the coast, delicious farm-to-table meals, (they have their own garden!), and the most gracious and friendly staff. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived, and have definitely found our home away from home! The pictures don't do it justice. There is simply a magical feeling there that has to be experienced. Don't hesitate! Book this place!
This property is beautiful! The staff are all so kind, the rooms are incredible with redwood trees coming through the room (redwood house), food was excellent, scenery is breath-taking! It would be a blast to have a nice party and rent out all the rooms with close friends.
This inn is amazing!! Perfect for a short weekend or a long getaway. Nestled north of also lovely town Mendocino, this ranch has charm, beauty, and comfort. There are plenty of trails around their private property and beyond in the neighboring state parks. I would say the highlight of my stay was the level of good ol company and service by the inn family. I highly recommend you chat with the inn keepers to learn about the property and it's history. The breakfast is perfect and can't be missed. If it fits your schedule, the happy hour and communal dinner is simply fantastic.
We "happenened" on the Inn at Newport Ranch and are so happy we discovered this gem on the north coast. The Inn is an architectural delight and filled with interesting touches wherever you look. The grounds are well-maintained with sweeping views of this rugged coastline. Happy hour and breakfast are included. Meals are delicious! Be sure to schedule an ATV ride of the property. It's 2 hours of stunning views of the coast, ranch land, and the redwood forest.
The hotel is a ranch style inn, located just off highway 1, and on beautiful headland into the pacific. Room is clean and modern. The lobby and the happy hour was our favorite, and the quiet and romantic setting. When we were there, there was foggy in the afternoon, so did not be missed the imaginable stanning sunset.
