The issues I have are lack of onsite parking and if booking through Expedia, you don’t get points."

"This hotel exceeded my expectations for what i paid. My one complaint was that at breakfast, I couldn't find any cutlery besides spoons. I had nothing to spread my butter with. Also, no napkins.
Big thanks to the staff for making our stay pleasant."

"This is a family run hotel that feels like home. I stay here every time I visit Erlangen, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the people reflect the quiet welcoming friendliness of the Franconian people. I would stay no where else and I hope they never change. BTW breakfast has real Black Forest kirsch-jam and smoked ham! Fresh croissants and baurenbrot - all very German."

"This is a great hotel with good location.
The only reason for rating the staff low was that there was a self check-in so we didn’t meet the staff.
The gym was great and it looked like the laundromat was nice too"

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at this hotel and it was wonderful. We arrived in Bamberg on Sunday morning (well before check-in) and were able to store our luggage and we were also given a map of Old Town and a list of cafes that we could visit while we waited for our check-in time. The room was lovely and spacious, and the air conditioning was a nice surprise (and very welcome with the unusually warm weather. The breakfast buffet was incredible and lots of very friendly staff. We ate at the hotel restaurant one night and the food was excellent and the gentleman waiting on us was so professional. The bed was very comfortable and the room was totally silent at night. I spend well over 100 nights a year in hotels and the Herzogs Park is top 1% in every regards. I come to Nuremberg every second year and I will make sure that this is the hotel that I stay at next time.

I enjoyed this hotel in Erlangen and my only regret is that I didn't get to explore more of Erlangen itself. Most of what we were doing was in Nuremberg proper, which is about a half hour total travel time (trains and walking) each way from this hotel. The nearest train stop is about a 3 minute walk from the hotel.
There's a little breakfast place a few steps away from the hotel and it was very good. The hotel itself has a large lobby that is essentially open all night as well, but I do not...

Stayed 2 nights and were very happy. The staff is first rate; very friendly and helpful in suggesting eateries and places to see. Our room was very spacious, clean and air conditioned. As it has been very warm in Germany this year, the A/C was very important. Got to meet the owner, Ralf, and had some great conversations. If you're ever in Nuremberg, stay here. You'll be glad you did.

The 1950s theme of this modest hotel is quite appealing (including rotary-dial phone in the room). Because the hotel is located in a residential neighbourhood, parking can be difficult, so one may have to put the "lug" in "luggage". There is no designated parking and no parking garage, contrary to the website information. Website also claims 24-hour service desk, which is also inaccurate, not that it mattered to me. The hotel has a very homey feel to it, and the owner/operator and staff are...
