About this property

Spacious Home with Wrap-Around Deck, Hot Tub, Fireplace - Elk Ridge

  • Elk Ridge is a 3,650 square foot lodge in Park County built for the whole group, 25.8 mi from Breckenridge Ski Resort, with two full living rooms, four bedrooms, and a hot tub deck facing the pines. The dogs are welcome too.

    There are two living rooms in this house, and on a group trip that turns out to matter more than anything else on the amenity list. The adults get one with a fireplace and a flat screen. The kids get the media room, with games, books, and a screen of their own. Nobody is negotiating over the remote at eight at night, and nobody is stuck in a bedroom because the only couch is taken.

    The kitchen is set up for people who actually cook on vacation. Granite counters, stainless appliances, and enough room for two or three people to work at once without colliding. The formal dining table seats the whole group at one table, which is the point of renting a house instead of two hotel rooms. A wood burning stove takes the edge off after a day on the mountain, central heating carries the rest of the night, and Starlink runs throughout, so a remote work morning or a movie night both hold up.

    Four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms are spread across the house, so early risers and late sleepers keep their own hours and nobody waits in line for a shower before first chair. In home laundry means you can pack for three days and stay for seven.

    The Layout

    * Master Suite: King bed, spacious closet.
    * Bunk Room #1: Queen bed with a twin bunk above — a whole family sleeps in one room.
    * Bunk Room #2: Queen bed with a twin bunk above — a second family room under the same roof.
    * Fourth Bedroom: Queen bed — the quiet, grown-up room.
    * 3.5 bathrooms across the home.
    * Two living areas — each with a fireplace and flat-screen TV.
    * Dedicated media room with games and books.
    * Wood-burning stove for the coldest nights.
    * Fully equipped kitchen — granite counters, stainless appliances — plus a formal dining room.
    * Starlink high-speed Wi-Fi throughout
    * Central heating
    * In-home laundry
    * Furnished decks with hot tub, gas grill, outdoor dining, and a seasonal horseshoe pit.
    * Parking for four vehicles.

    For Groups and Families
    The two bunk rooms are the reason families book this house twice. Each one pairs a queen with a twin bunk above it, so a parent and kids share a room comfortably, or the cousins claim a room together and the adults get the far end of the house. The master suite stays a grown-up space.
    The media room gives the younger half of the trip somewhere to go when the weather turns or the ski day ends early, which is most of the reason the main living room stays pleasant. Parking for four vehicles means two or three families can caravan in without anyone parking down the road.

    Bringing the Dog
    Elk Ridge is pet friendly, and the setting does most of the work. The house sits on a private, wooded lot in Park County with Pike National Forest trails all around it, so the morning walk is out the door and into the trees rather than a lap around a parking lot. Mt. Sherman, 14.7 mi away, is one of the more approachable 14ers in the state and a favorite with hikers who bring their dogs along.

    Inside, there is 3,650 square feet of room to spread out, so a dog is not underfoot in a cramped condo living room. The wood burning stove is where a wet dog will end up after a snowy walk, the in home laundry handles the towels, and the furnished decks give everyone, four legs included, somewhere to sit in the sun. The yard is not fenced, so dogs need to be leashed or supervised outside, and there is a pet fee at booking.

    Outside
    The decks are furnished and face pine forest on three sides. The hot tub is the anchor after a ski day or a summer 14er, and the gas grill and outdoor dining set make dinner outside a real option through the warm months. A seasonal horseshoe pit gives the group something to argue about between meals. This is a private, wooded setting at 10,883 feet, so elk, deer, and moose move through regularly. Watch them from the deck.
