You can play a wicked game of foozball or try your hand at the Wii games. There is a bedroom on this level that has bunk beds that are both full size and another en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. There is a brand-new hot tub to relax in after a long day of skiing or hiking. It is in the deck so you can enjoy the gorgeous views or the stars at night. Along with a new fire pit on the deck, to enjoy. You will truly enjoy this location and the fact that is it central to so many outdoor activities. There are restaurants, shopping and a grocery store in close proximity to the home. Many of the best festivals are held in this area so be sure to check with us for the schedule. Fairplay is home to the famous South Park City which is a renovated 1800's mining town. You will want to be sure and explore this town as it is a favorite attraction for tourists. South Park has been designated a National Historic Monument because of the rich history here. There are 100's of old mines and ghost towns to explore. Be sure to bring your fishing gear as the Platte River is know for it's "Gold Medal" fishing. Almost any activity you can think of is just a short drive from the home. Some of these include hiking, ATVing, 4-wheeling, white-water rafting, fishing, hunting, and skiing. Just stop by our office in Alma and we can give you directions to all of the main activities. DISCLOSURES: \* This home is located in the Central Rockies at approx 11,198 ft elevation. Please be advised that elevation and weather should be considered when deciding if this location is appropriate. \* Guests are required to have a four-wheel drive vehicle with adequate snow tires or chains during the winter months from November through May. The area is subject to frequent unpredictable and adverse weather conditions which can make travel difficult. \* This home is located in a rural high alpine mountain environment where wildlife, insects and rodents may be encountered. The home is also equipped with a well water system and may have variability in taste, smell or mineral content based on time of year and usage. \* Guests will be required to sign a vacation rental agreement after booking. \* Outdoor security camera(s) are in use at this property, and may be used to verify guest occupancy. We appreciate the ease of booking with Second Home. It's our 2nd summer in a row using them. Porcupine Slopes was a nice vacation home- we appreciated the views, the hot tub, ample space, and the pet friendly policy. The drive up the mountain (about 4ish miles of unpaved roads) was a little rough, but we managed it with our 4x4 truck. Our favorite things to do in the area are closer to Breckenridge, and this house is a little farther away than anticipated. It's not a slight on the house (it was great!), but it is something to consider when booking. Fairplay and Alma are very charming small towns, especially this weekend with the annual Burro Days, and do have a lot to offer as well.
