Cascade #350 Charmed Chateau at Cascade Village (#350 - Snowden Bldg) is our 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom is the perfect mountain escape, it features a full kitchen, wood fireplace, and a private deck with outdoor seating space. - the perfect all-season mountain escape! Cascade Village is located less than 2 miles north of Purgatory Ski Area and 25 miles north of Durango. This nicely decorated condo has an open concept living plan with comfortable furnishings and linens all of which contribute to its warm atmosphere. Washer/dryer in the condo. Smart TV is set up for guests with Sling TV + guests can log into their own streaming apps like Netflix or Hulu. Both bedrooms have a desk and chair in case you have to work while you are away. WHERE YOU'LL SLEEP: \* Master Bedroom - King Bed with TV (Upstairs) \* 2nd Bedroom - Two Double Beds with TV (Main level) \* Living Room - Sleeper Sofa with TV (Main Level) LOCATION AND AMENITIES: Cascade Village has amazing views of the Needles Mountains, is less than 2 miles north of Purgatory Ski Resort, 26 miles north of downtown Durango, and 25 miles south of Silverton. Free on-site amenities at Cascade include an indoor heated pool, sauna, outdoor/indoor hot tubs, pool table and game room, outdoor tennis court, ski rental shop (with discounts). It is also near the Nordic Center for cross-country skiing, and near numerous hiking trails, fishing creeks and jeeps trails. Many guests stay here to visit Purgatory Ski Resort, which offers a variety of restaurants, winter and summer activities, and festivals/events. SKI SHUTTLE: Purgatory offers a complimentary ski shuttle to our Cascade rental guests on a set schedule 1-2 times in the AM and PM during the ski season, on a first come first serve basis. Details will be provided in your rental instructions. WIFI / TV: All of the Cascade Village units are equipped with reliable Fiber Optic internet service with an average internet speed of up to 50 Mbps and guests can stream their favorite movies and TV shows on their preferred provider (e.g. Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime) using the smart TVs in the unit. With fast and reliable fiber optic WIFI, guests can stream on multiple devices. Cable TV is not available in any units at Cascade Village. NO PETS/ NO TRAILERS: Due to HOA rules, the condo (and all condos in the building) is not pet friendly. Please do not bring your pets/emotional support animals. Also, trailers are not allowed. COOLING: Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. It was not comfortable sleeping as the temperature was all over the place in the condo. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When we arrived the walkway to the condo had not been shoveled. Considering there had been 9" of snow was a slight issue. In looking for a shovel to help other people to avoid the problem I could not find one. The view was wonderful as was the comfort of the condo. In checking for the coffee for the next day a small, hotel size, bag was provided. In calling the service desk to ask about what was the schedule for the ski up I was told there is only one at 8:45 and another one for return to the condo from Purgatory at 3:15\. In checking this out I was told Purgatory runs this and contact them, which I did. There are plenty of towels and bedding. There are no grocery stores close and one small bar two miles away has a food truck outside to buy something to eat. The television is streaminng only. This means you do not have any sports channels, national news CNN MSNBC, or channels like NBC, CBS, FOX. The parking underneath the units was nice as was the ski rental in the service building. Since the owner, who we have no idea who owns the condo, could not be contacted, I would recommend they have someone check on the cleanliness of the cleaners.
