![Just 45 minutes from Hobart, Dunalley is a small town by the sea with a canal and swing bridge separating it from the Tasman Peninsula. 
Affected but also in a way spared from annihilation which could have befallen them in the disastrous fires that roared through the area in January 2013,   Bangor Wine & Oyster Shed sits above the town, overlooking Bangor Vineyard, Blackman Bay, Marion Bay and Norfolk Bay where some of Australia's best oysters are grown.

Now it is a stop on the way to or from Port Arthur or a retreat after work on Friday nights when it is open in summer until 9.00pm. Award winning wines, cheese & antipasto platters and dishes of the day plus great coffee make this one of my favourite weekend call-bys.

« Spacious, welcoming, fully equipped kitchen, and super comfortable bed. This is an absolute unique and private property perfect for a couple. Gorgeous uninterrupted views across the water and surrounding mountains as the property is located down a long unsealed road. Sorell is your nearest town (8 min drive) for any provisions you need or continue on to Hobart for city experience. We stayed for 3x nights over Christmas and the weather was unseasonably cold but this place stayed warm inside...

« Very spacious and extremely well equipped - excellent cooking facilities, all sorts of utensils, AND a good dishwasher. Outdoor BBQ worked well and avoided much cleaning inside. Location was excellent - near but not quite on the main road, easy walk to shops, short drive to even more shops. »
