This custom-built duplex mountain retreat feels just like home! Exquisitely furnished, the Red Poppy features 3 bedrooms and 2 ½ baths, reclaimed oak and slate floors, a gourmet kitchen with Wolf range, and panoramic views of Mt. Crested Butte, the Town of Crested Butte, and surrounding mountains from every room. There is also a 1-car heated garage that provides indoor parking and storage for skis and gear. Two 'townie' bikes are also available for all guests! The grocery store, movie theater, and free ski shuttle are a block away, the park and playground are across the street, and Elk Avenue is only a short distance from the property. The ground floor features 1 bedroom with a Queen, the second bedroom with a twin over double bunk bed + a twin trundle, a full bath, and a private washer/dryer. The second floor is where you will find the beautiful common area living space, with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, living room with TV, and 1/2 bath. Like I said home Is nice - its on loud corner for CB - maybe not for most peoples home town. the location is convenient for getting into town either by bike or walking. As architects we are pretty picky about the quality of the places we stay...Overall this is one of the nicer places we have stayed in, but here are a few suggestions. The door levers on a couple of the closet doors were installed incorrectly or ordered incorrectly. The beds were mostly comfortable, with the exception of the bottom bunk bed. The ceiling is a hazard in the master. We are both on the shorter side, but we both banged our heads a couple of times. The master bathroom smells mildewy, probably because of the steam shower and no fresh air. We used the fan. Towels also were stinky and we didn't see a second set anywhere.. Coffee pot was dirty inside and impossible to clean because it has a narrow opening - invest in a new coffee maker. I couldn't get garage door to lock, so was a little nervous about having skis in there unlocked. So cute and cozy and perfect location. Highly recommend it and would definitely stay there again. One thing that looks would be nice would be to pave the walkway from the street to the door. Our car with the Thule wouldn’t fit in the garage so we parked on the street. Since it’s spring, the snow was melting and the weather was amazing. But, our shoes got covered in mud every time we left. Therefore, the foyer got muddy. Not a big deal though—just felt bad for the cleaners. Awesome stay and great time has by all! ##### Becky H. The property was as described and fully equipped for our family at Christmas time. The short walk to the mountain shuttle was so convenient and we enjoyed being within 10 minutes of all of the restaurants.
