Newly Renovated Rustic Cabin at the Frio

  • Rustic log cabin close to the River off of River Road on Mariposa ave in Concan. Newly renovated. Two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. 1st bedroom sleeps 4 and second bedroom sleeps 2. Each one has own bathroom. Full kitchen with plenty of room and living room with a fireplace. Large porch with rocking chairs for sitting outside. Firepit area; barbecue pit and picnic table. Take a walk and relax when not tubing down the river. Nice family atmosphere.

    The cabin is located close to the river, however there is not private access via walking. We have many great tubing companies around that can help you get access to the river and enjoy time with your family.

Cabin was really nice, clean, and with everything you need to have an enjoyable stay. Kitchen well equipped with pots and pans and great bbq pit!! Plenty of deer to see making it really ice for kids, awesome stay!!

Rustic getaway

Such a quite, beautiful rustic getaway. It was faraway, yet very close. The cabin was exactly what we were looking for. Becky was very helpful and welcoming. My family loved it and we will be back when the river is flowing.

Quaint hill country cabin

We had a great stay at this well appointed home. Lots of hill country birds were seen on property to our delight. The beds were very comfortable and the showers had great water pressure. Buy any condiment you might want during your stay as the local markets are very limited!

Hiking in Garner State Park

We wanted a cabin off the “beaten path” and that is exactly what you should expect. It had everything we needed. It was clean, welcoming and expect the deer to come right up to the front porch. We had a great time hiking at Garner State Park and coming back to the cabin to relax, fix dinner and watch a movie before calling it a night.

Great and Relaxing Atmosphere

The cabin was very comfortable and relaxing and that was just what we were looking for. It had an air of peace. It was very clean. The television was a little iffy, the picture was not clear and it took awhile for the channels to come in.

Cozy December Cabin

Absolutely loved this cozy, rustic, but charming cabin. Nice quiet location and the trees provided privacy. Tastefully decorated and clean. Nicely furnished. The cabin had enough dishes and kitchen gadgets. Convenience store is close by for basics. We really enjoyed playing games and watching Christmas movies by the fireplace. Miss. Becky was a fantastic host—always available and helpful. Thank you so much for sharing your home. We look forward to booking with her again!

Check in was smooth & communication was good for the most part. Plenty of space for everyone. If you are taller than 5 ft, you will have to bend over to take a shower, which I am assuming is why there are no pictures of inside the showers. There were 6 of us but only 8 washcloths for 2 nights. I was just going to wash what we had but soon realized there is no washer. I requested clean washcloths on the 2nd day & the host seemed irritated. She eventually brought us a stack of washcloths that looked like they had been used as cleaning rags for the past 5 years. When we got ready to use the grill, we found it to be full of ashes with no tool to clean it out. My husband found what appeared to be a grill brush at one time, and used that to scrape some of the ashes out so we could put charcoal in; minor issue but still annoying. Kitchen supplies & utensils were sufficient & the cabin was clean, minus the hair in the shower, for the most part. We checked out & all was good until we received a bill accusing us of stealing a blue porch chair. I disputed the claim & she just got rude in her responses. The chairs are out front where anyone can take them. They are not chained & there is not a camera in the property. Our saving grace was the pic posted by a previous customer of 3, not 4, chairs in front of the cabin. I don’t know when the 4th chair was taken but it was not there when we arrived. All of this to say, take pics of everything at this property as evidence.

Great Vacation Getaway

This cabin was perfect. Nice and cozy and felt at home. Right next to the Frio no more than a 5 minute drive. Will surely go back if available.
