A perfect retreat - will return as often as possible
Super comfortable bed, nice and deep soaker tub, fast internet for uploading the massive amount of beach and area images that are literally steps from the door. Sad to be leaving, but super glad to have been.

Total Peace and Healing at Tidal Tranquility.
My husband have rented many lovely houses on beautiful properties, but Tidal Tranquility will now be the standard by which we rate our future travel stays. Upon entering the front door, we felt a deep spiritual connection, headed directly for the chairs by the beach before unpacking. You really cannot refer to this place as a property or beachfront cabin, because it has the sense of a home that calls to your heart. Brad is a wonderful communicator, and from the start of our booking process reached out to answer our every question and concern. We recognize good karma came together to secure our stay. Brad has placed so many little extras in this home that you do not ordinarily find in a VRBO rental. We entertained friends while on the island, I appreciated linen placemats and napkins, beautiful stoneware and serving dishes, decorated paper napkins, a fully stocked kitchen, Lodge cast iron!!!, and parchment paper!! He even had Epsom salts on hand in the bathroom closet. It is always those personal touches that set a good rental apart from a special one. Even though we chose not to use the amazing sound system, burn a log in the fireplace, or light the tea lights Brad has provided his guests with many options to enhance your stay at Tidal Tranquility. The covered veranda was a place of heaven when rain prevented us from being outside. Our trip to Comox was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We highly recommend a stay here. You will find healing and peace.

Return to paradise
My second stay at Tidal Tranquility did not disappoint. The cabin is as lovely and cozy as ever...and the view? Second to none and a joy to wake up to every morning. I loved all the wildlife...herons, eagles, seals...the spectacular weather for my 3 week stay made everything that much better. I loved my daily miles-long walks on the beach at low tide...one day i discovered a purple starfish! Thanks again, Brad,for sharing your oasis with me...I'm already looking forward to next year.

The place was so quaint and beautiful and clean, and had everything we could ever possibly need, including a beach right on our back doorstep. The host was super accommodating and reliable. We had our beautiful getaway in the hot weather, and there was never any heat in the house or backyard because it’s shaded by the trees and you get the ocean breeze coming in the doorway every day -just beautiful and therapeutic and we will recommend everyone to go stay there. It’s a beach house in such a lovely bay with our own private airshow with the Canadian snowbirds every morning while they were training very special.

Excellent Return Visit
Our return visit to Tidal Tranquility did not disappoint. The same well-maintained beachside accomodation with thoughtful touches. including a stove for fire logs, made this a welcome break from city life. Stunnning surroundings and wildlife, including goups of bald eagles and seals and a quiet ocean bay with coastal, snow-capped mountains in the distance. Well worth the trip to the Comox valley.

An amazing location - great holiday!
This is the second time my husband and I stayed at this location. We always go to different places when we travel, but this special cabin and beach drew us back there again. The owner is totally there for you, so if you have any questions or needs you just need to ask. We are also seniors that benefit from everything being level at this location, in the cabin and right out to the beach. For those with similar needs this is an ideal location. The gorgeous sandy beach, with welcoming logs washed up from the ocean, make for amazing strolls along the shore. And when the tide goes out, walking on the sandbars and exploring the tide pools is great fun! The kitchen is well stocked for those that love to cook, and one can sit on the couch or table inside and watch the ocean as you eat. The outside BBQ/fireplace is amazing as well. And if there are coastal rains, you can curl up on the couch on the covered deck and enjoy! Another great vacation!

Relaxing Spot
We enjoyed the cottage, the grounds, and the beach. The kitchen is well equipped, we appreciated the BBQ grill, and the owner has added many thoughtful touches that add comfort and 'home-iness.' Many options for enjoying the property's outdoor space. Aside from the beach, the lane the house is on makes for a pleasant walk through the immediate neighbourhood, and not far away we enjoyed Seal Bay Nature Park, Point Holmes, Lazo Wildlife Park, Filberg Park, Baybrook Nature Park, and Brooklyn Creek Park. Prospective renters should be aware that CFB Comox is very nearby, but this bothered us not in the least.

Perfect summer break
Tidal Tranquility is a lovely little gem on Kye Bay. We loved the clean, well equipped cabin and the beautiful backyard that merged with the beach. We walked for miles at low tide and swam in the afternoons. Morning coffee watching seals play and afternoons on the patio are treasured memories. Communication with Brad, the owner, was easy and efficient. I highly recommend Tidal Tranquility for those who truly want a break to recharge and refresh.

A Perfect Place
As this is the third year that we have stayed for a week at the cabin, it's hard to think of new superlatives to describe our stay. Clearly we enjoy the experience! Even though the weather wasn't quite as nice this year, we still were able to sit out every evening on the comfortable furniture on the lovely covered deck (albeit with blankets on a couple of occasions) and watch the ferry and the cruise ships go by. Truly a week that we look forward to and we hope to return again next year.

Magical
As the one-year anniversary of my husbands unexpected death approached, I knew I wanted some time alone ...to reflect, to heal. The ocean has always been a source of comfort to me, and when I saw the listing for Tidal Tranquillity , I knew I had found my spot. Upon arrival, and opening the drapes to look outside...I literally burst into tears, the view was so beautiful. My 9 days there were nothing short of perfection. The cabin itself is awesome, with everything you need, and more. The personal touches are second to none. The beach is gorgeous, sandy, you can walk for miles at low tide. I saw seals, orcas, herons, deer, bald eagles....and those mountains seeming to grow out of the sea...unforgettable. Two things: 1: I have never felt more "at home" in a rental place and 2: I will be back. Thank you, Brad, for sharing your little piece of heaven with me.

Highly recommend this rental for a quiet and relaxed get-away. Brad is a super host and very attentive to all details. The cabin contains many extras ( books, games, lots of candles for ambience, misc. items in cupboards and fridge). Great wifi connection and sound system. No TV - so that may be helpful for some to know. It is relatively close to the airport but we were not bothered by the sounds of planes coming and going. We were very fortunate to be treated to some spectacular airshows as F18 pilots and the Snowbirds were in the area practicing their maneuvers. It was amazing to watch them - the F18's are noisy but so fun to observe them! Cooler weather prevented us from enjoying the lovely yard and patio areas but we made good use of the indoor fireplace! Comox no longer allows outdoor fires which is unfortunate. The beach and ocean views are wonderful! The cabin is a bit out of the way so best to purchase groceries etc. prior to checking in. We definitely hope to return for a future stay and hopefully enjoy some summer sun! Thanks, Brad, for your commitment to providing an excellent vacation experience for your guests!

Being able to walk right out to the beach was wonderful. This cabin was everything it was advertised to be and more. Greg has thought of everything a person would need. There are cards and games for a rainy day but we were happy to jus sit in front of the picture window and drink in the incredible views. Was wonderful to just unplug. Arrived at a low tide; just dumped our gear and headed for the beach to explore the Kye Bay tidal flats and watch the brant geese foraging for food The house is even more tranquil and perfect than the pictures. A great spot to unwind, read books, and close enough to Cumberland for fantastic mountain biking adventures. Tidal Tranquility Indeed
We needed a retreat after a difficult time in our lives. Tidal Tranquility was the perfect getaway to reflect and have some quiet winter time in nature. Kye Bay was spectacular with lots of eagles, seabirds and bobbing seals, with big swaths of sand to walk on during low tide. Nearby we watched orca and humpback whales for three days in a row. The cabin is super cozy, very well stocked and is in a superb, quaint location. Everything you need to mend your heart. Thanks so much Brad for sharing this incredibly special place. One of the best on Vancouver Island.

Quiet Retreat
Our entire experience was wonderful; the cottage was very clean, bright and had everything we could need for a 4 night stay. We particularly appreciated having easy to use heaters in each room, so we could adjust the temperature in each space. The view was incredible, changing with the weather and completed the serene setting. Brad was easily available to answer questions, which was reassuring during a snow storm! We will definitely be back, hopefully in the summer to enjoy the patio.

Peaceful, Oceanside Get away
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Brad's Tidal Tranquility Cabin. Being right on the beach which we walked every day, enjoying the birds and whatever sea life we could find each day. Even though we were there in November, it was still enjoyable to experience the ocean every morning, and the beautiful mountains in the background. This was just what we needed, to get away from the noise of the city, and take in the peace, quiet and tranquility of this Cabin and surrounding area. We enjoyed the Wood Stove every night, the living room was very comfortable, the kitchen has everything you could possibly need! The place was spotless, and very well maintained. Brad also responded quickly to any concerns and was very accommodating. We would love to come again, maybe in the spring or summer.

Love at first sight...
From the moment I walked into the cottage until the time I, sadly, had to leave, my stay at Tidal Tranquility was amazing. The comfortable and cozy cottage had everything I needed and in all my past VRBO stays I have never encountered such a well stocked kitchen. Brad answered all my questions promptly and went out of his way to ensure my stay was the best it could be. The property is secluded and the beach is right there. I spent a lot of time walking the beach and, in my opinion, the Tidal Tranquility beach it is the nicest on Kye Bay. During my October stay, I saw three storms. What a treat being able to watch the forces of nature from this lovely cottage. I recommend Tidal Tranquility to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway; I am already working with Brad to book my next stay.

Amazing vacation!
Our vacation at this location was totally amazing! I concur with all the wonderful comments made already by others about the well appointed beach home with such a beautiful and private yard, the wonderful sandy beach, and Brad is an amazing host who is totally there to answer questions or look after your needs. Best host ever! What I would like to add is that this location is very user friendly for seniors or anyone with physical challenges. Everything is level, only two steps to get into the home, and two steps to get off the front covered deck. It is a level walk right to the beach and low tide offers large and amazing sandbars that are wonderful to walk on as they are firmer than the soft sand of the beach for those that would appreciate that extra support. I loved the tide pools and if you are into collecting sea shells they are here in abundance! We also enjoyed a variety of weather, to beautiful sunny days, a storm that treated us with big waves for a day, and some rain. It was perfect! This was our first vacation since pre-COVID and it was the best gift we could have given ourselves.

We returned to this lovely spot because of the peaceful setting, beautiful home and garden - perfect spot for downtime with our young ones! The host, Brad makes everything so easy. Can't wait to go back already :) Thanks again for sharing your special space.

Another Excellent Visit
This is the second year that we booked the property in July. We were fortunate to enjoy another year of wonderful weather. We were happy to return to your lovely cabin. Love the upgrades - good idea to move the wood stove (although we certainly didn't need to use it) and the new roof looks great! We loved that everything else was familiar and designed for guests to appreciate all that the beach has to offer while still providing all the comforts that we needed.

Paradise
Gifted this booking for my parents’ anniversary. They expressed great thanks for sharing your lovely cabin – ‘paradise’ they called it. They enjoyed watching the activity at the water’s edge, including front row seats to the Snowbirds rehearsing. I think they’re hooked!

Bliss!
We had such a lovely restful respite at Tidal Tranquility. Everything was as promised and then some. Having a comfortable bed is a huge priority and Tidal Tranquility delivered. I don’t think I have slept so soundly. Waking up to the gorgeous view with herons quietly patrolling the beach was a bonus. All amenities to make a comfortable stay including a multitude of beach and lounge chairs to enjoy the setting were appreciated. Thanks Brad.

Kye Bay Vay-Cay
Cabin was spotless upon arriving. Stocked with everything you need including some dry goods and condiments, candles, bbq's and firewood for indoor wood stove. Cabin bright, covered patio large and ocean/beach right at end of large backyard. Comfortable bed and pull out couch. We had an awesome time, felt the price very fair for all that was included. Super cozy cabin with the most amazing views
We fell in love with this cabin the minute we walked in. From the breathtaking view to the beautiful sand beach to the incredibly comfortable furniture, we spent the majority of our time just relaxing, cooking and hanging out "at home".

Simply amazing

What a charming place!

Cozy Cabin Getaway
Cozy, magical getaway. A perfect place to unplug. The cabin was fully equipped with all the essentials. Music and tea lights, blankets and fire logs made for great ambiance. Felt like a dreamy home away from home. The ocean view was spectacular. I would book again in a heartbeat!

Wonderful stay
This lovely cabin was perfect for our needs. It is well maintained and includes everything that one would need. I love the front deck with roof so you sit outside and can enjoy the ocean even if it’s raining. It is exactly as described and more.
