After I showed up, the key was not in the lockbox so I contacted the host to figure out what was going on. At that moment I was told that he had double booked with another platform and I was left to fend for myself on the weekend of the Chicago marathon after I’d booked this place 5 months before the trip. He refused to cancel the booking until I called vrbo support and then he said he cancelled because I, (at 33 years old) didn’t meet the minimum age requirement. The host, Mario, didn’t take any responsibility for the mistake and totally shifted all the blame to everyone but himself. Spare yourself, and find another place with accountable hosts before you end up spending 3x as much booking this place and then a hotel. ##### Miles B.
