Book just 1 or all 4\. Each charming suite is light, airy and tastefully decorated to provide a luxury experience. Each unit features a comfortable seating area, a large bathroom with a Carrera marble shower surround, a separate bedroom with a king-size bed and a fully equipped galley style kitchen with brand new Samsung appliances. Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. Suite #4 is on the second floor. The Space: Kildahl House is a fully updated farmhouse that was painstakingly renovated specifically for short-term lodging guests. The simple farmhouse was built by the Kildahl family in the early 1900’s and occupies a prominent location atop a hill, looking over the downtown. Mr. J.P. Kildahl was the village’s first prominent photographer and served as a Village Trustee for 30 years, while Mrs. Louise Kildahl—active in the community—started a flower service that began almost fifty years of a beautiful tradition of bestowing flowers wherever cheer, or congratulations were in order. In 2022, the property was completely rehabbed and renovated to offer four private one-bedroom suites that honor the original heritage of the property with clean lines, pastel color palettes, and simple farmhouse furnishings. The tonal clapboard structure with cedar shake roof offers river and downtown views, private backyard with a seating area. The wraparound porch, complete with porch swing, will take you back in time. Here you can relax, take in the sights, and enjoy the charm of our uniquely quaint downtown. Guest Access: Entrance is on Second Street. Our remote lock system allows the convenience of a contactless check-in and check-out. The Neighborhood: Kildahl House is centrally located in historic downtown Dundee. The entire downtown district is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. You’re just steps away from numerous dining and nightlife options. Walk across the street to Emmett’s Brewing Co. and enjoy a bite to eat and one of their award-winning brews, or catch a live show a few doors down at the RocHaus. We are also just a 2 minute drive from "The BRIX on the Fox" wedding reception venue. Downtown Dundee also offers a pleasant river walk and the Fox River bike trail which both wind their way along the Fox River. Kildahl House is a perfect home base for exploring all that the Fox River Valley has to offer. Getting Around: Our location is conveniently located 3 miles north of Interstate 90 and 5 miles to the closest Metra Train station. Uber, Lyft, and PACE public busses are all available. We are a quick 30 minutes from Chicago's O-Hare International Airport. Free parking is offered across the street in one of many municipal parking lots. Kildahl House offers the convenience of self-check-in with keyless entry. Kildahl House is perfect for couples, solo adventurers and business travelers. Other Things to Note: Please note that due to the age and historic nature of the property there is no elevator and access requires walking up a flight of stairs. Each listing is its own private apartment. We offer a 10% discount for 7 night stays and 20% discount for 30+ night stays. Guests can book one suite or all four. To our surprise, we found this GREAT PROPERTY in our backyard! The rustic old house was remolded to a nice modern look. We are very familiar with the area and the town that this home is in, but we never knew that the town itself offered such very nice lodging, or lodging in general. There are hotels available outside of this downtown area, but you need to drive 15-30 minutes away. This property being in the middle of the downtown area is perfect. Every bit of the owners' description of their property is spot on. The place was very clean, roomy, and accommodating to our weekend getaway needs. There are plenty of spots to go eat and drink. Some good entertainment, if you are lucky like we were, the local theater was hosting a great concert celebrating great music from the 90s. All of this was within walking distance from the house. Excellent communication with the owners from start to finish. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that are looking to plan another trip there with our extended family and rent the whole house out. I highly recommend staying here for anyone looking to get away for a nice weekend or longer stay. ##### LeeVell S.
