We arrived early in the morning via night train from Bangkok and they let us into our rooms right away, which was nice, because we could secure our bags before heading out to check out the city. We had two private rooms (not the bunk rooms). Location was good for exploring Chiang Mai and nearby areas. The staff was friendly and helpful and the bedroom was tidy. I booked 3 nights but didn't see more than 3 travellers the whole time. This may be due to the time of year but wouldn't recommend SOHO unless you are in a group/couple. The rooms and communal area are great, really clean and modern, wifi drops in and out sometimes but in lobby is fine. Staff are OK but not overly friendly other than one guy who checked me in early and also offered to lend me insect repellent and bite spray one night when it was raining. No toilet paper in washroom, no soap or shampoo provided. Rooms and sheets were never cleaned or changed for the 4 nights we were there. Hotel staff was always very unfriendly or too busy on their cell phones to care help people out. (with the exception of one or two ppl) Overall for the services and style of Hostel being portrayed this was a fail. The nicest things about the hotel are the lobby and common areas (from the pics) which are relatively up kept. STAY FAR AWAY! The staff is very rude and were not helpful at all during my stay. The bathrooms were filthy dirty and the staff did not bother to clean them. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!
