"We had a wonderful stay in this quaint hotel located in a 1645 historic building - a former monestery and military hospital- within and part of the city walls. Our room with terrace overlooked the garden, swimming pool and the historic city walls as well as the beautiful surroundings. We enjoyed the sunsets there. This hotel is close to the city center, has free parking and breakfast was delicious. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved that they have several quiet reading/sitting areas. Prices are reasonable. We noticed that several rooms were getting updated. There is also a beautiful courtyard with orange trees. And the restaurant has a huge (cooking?) fireplace. This hotel is a great base to not only visit Elvas, but also Evora, Badajoz and Merida. We look forward to our next stay here"
"It is advertised with two restaurants, one a cafeteria. After a long hard drive from Santander to Badajoz. On arriving my partner tried to check is both in having to compete two ridiculously long forms, never having to do so before. I was seated as l am disabled they needed my signature. On here return to the desk, the clerk dicided to check in a goup of six. NOT impressed. On asking what time the restaurant was serving dinner the answer was it's closed. No expliction or apology. Use the cafeteria only to find it was in the adjoining service station. Again NOT impressed. At breakfast there was a container for hot food in which Nothing appeared in the 45 minutes we were there poor selection with over ripe bananas on disply.

"The room was very clean, and the room service menu was excellent with fast service. We especially appreciated this after arriving late, having had to leave another nearby hotel due to there being no heat in our room. Despite not staying, that hotel still required payment, even though I was sick with walking pneumonia and needed a warm room to avoid becoming more ill."
"Clean, friendly, room ok with lovely balcony and view. No lift Dinner ok for me.(Pork chops) not for my wife . Breakfast ok but coffee awful. I had fresh fruit, yogor, toast, juice and tea. Hot was scrambled egg (it ran out( and tiny sausages. No vale la pena. Super lady and young M an at reception and bar."
"Have you ever checked into a hotel and been made to feel that you were an inconvenience? That you were interrupting someone? That you were being looked down at by someone who thought they were superior? I was fortunate in my work and now in my retirement to have traveled the world for 30 years averaging about 250 nights of travel per year. Never, ever, have I been “greeted” with such rudeness and arrogance. We were demeaned and considered leaving after our miserable experience at check in but resolved to stay and put this rudeness behind us. The next morning I was outside taking some photos and the owners Dobermans starting barking furiously. No problem — until the owner opened the door and one of the dogs came racing toward me only to screech to a halt when I screamed at the dog. The property is very nice but it is not a hotel. It is a ten room bed and breakfast. During our stay we conducted a search of reviews for this property on multiple websites. Unfortunately, we were not surprised to see a lot of bad reviews due to the rudeness and arrogance. Had we read the reviews first, we likely would have stayed somewhere else. "
