StageCoach cabin on the North Rim

Situated on the storied and historic Marshall Ranch, moments from the entrance to America’s most beloved State Park – Palo Duro Canyon, StageCoach Cabin is a destination on most traveler’s bucket list. One of the best features of the lovely view from this cabin is the proximity to the sheer edge of the canyon wall. Flint scrapers and arrowheads can still be found on this grouping of North Rim Cabins. The site where these cabins were constructed was used by Comanche’s as a “butchery,” and nearby Buffalo Draw was where the Indians drove buffalo over the cliff as a hunting technique.



Blending the West Texas legendary ranching past with the relevance of Americas second largest canyon, this cabin is sure to engage the senses and captivate the imagination of our guests. Longhorn Cattle roam the adjacent pasture and the steep margins of the canyon view consist of bright, banded layers of orange, red, brown, yellow, and white rocks that represent four geologic periods. Modern but rustic, this cabin is immaculate and fully furnished.

Beautiful location

We enjoyed our stay at the Stagecoach. The stars and sunrises were amazing and the day view was awesome. The cabin had all the necessary supplies and was comfortable, exactly as described.

The cabin was incredibly nice... decorations, set-up in the kitchen for cooking meals, really clean, what a view! Location to hiking is so close! we will definitely be back!

Outstanding! Perfect location!

The resort is superb. You can tell that a lot of thought was put into the property with the details. Entry and exit was worry free. The spectacular views and lookout were breathtaking. We hope to make this an annual visit.

Great cabin, beautiful views from the porch. Awesome communication from host. They even got us set up for horseback riding. We grilled steaks one evening. Sad Monkey Mercantile is close by & has drinks & food 👍

40th anniversary getaway

It was perfect! Very clean. The kitchen was well stocked including coffee pods, sugar and powdered creamer. You cannot beat the view overlooking the canyon and beautiful sunrises! We have already booked a return trip!

Peaceful Retreat

We LOVED this place! I thought we were going to be "roughing it" staying in a cabin, but this place was amazing. The cabin was laid out and decorated really nicely, with big windows in the back showing off a beautiful view of the canyon. It was super CLEAN. There is a covered pavilion on the property at a point where you can enjoy the most gorgeous view of the canyon in several directions. We wished that we had planned more days to be able to stay. Definitely plan on coming back!

Family winter getaway haven

We booked the Stage Coach cabin at Doves Rest to stay after Christmas until NYE and had an amazing time! My husband took his telescope and spent the chilly evenings stargazing. The views from the cabin were incredible day and night! And the sunsets are stunning. Our two children enjoyed the games in the cabin and slept comfortably on the sofa bed. The kitchen was fully equipped so we had everything we needed. Water got hot fast, which was a huge plus. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were provided. The drive to the canyon was super short and we got to hang out at Sad Monkey a couple of times. We also took our small 15 lbs dog and he had a great vacation with all the new smells. The management company communicated very well via text messages and we received thorough instructions before our arrival so we didn’t need to communicate with anyone during our stay. Walking around the huge property was also fun and there were swings for the kids. There were other cabins but it was surprisingly quiet. I highly recommend this cabin for families or couples. 5 stars!

Relaxing Getaway

This property was great--just as advertised. Very convenient to the state park and town for necessities. GPS got us a little turned around on the way in, and we texted the owner who immediately responded and got us on track, despite the late hour. Highly recommend.
