As much as I wanted to love this property it was just impossible. We have stayed at The Royal Haciendas August 2023 and had an amazing time so figured their sister property would be just as good….boy were we wrong. The food was the same all week..literally the absolute same. They have one place to eat that doesn’t require reservations and it’s outside and the birds are literally eating off of the buffet. The one place that does require reservations was Italian and my 20month olds pasta and red sauce was the best thing we had…. Housekeeping would come by at the most random times and would consistently come by after 9pm to see if we needed towels….at 9pm……waking our 20 month old EVERY TIME. We went to customer service about it which shrugged and told us they would let housekeeping know…. So after that we just didn’t get clean linen at all. The drinks were extremely weak and there was no forms of entertainment/activities for kids or adults.

Best part is being able to use sister resort. Very family friendly and low key at royal cancun. Thought food drinks and entertainment were better at royal sands. But you get the best of both with royal resorts

hotel staff were pretty friendly overall, but if you've never been in a hotel resort before, I would recommend you do plenty of research about the resort policy, so you won't get charged for the extra service. Room AC was too strong for my family, my father got sick because of it. wish there was a way to adjust the room temperature.

The Royal Suites is a great family friendly resort. When you walk in the lobby it’s not as impressive as other hotels but it makes up for this in substance. We had a two level suite which worked great with four kids 11 and under. Suite was well outfitted with everything we needed and very clean. The whole resort was clean and all staff incredibly friendly and accommodating. We mostly ate at Palapa’s and found there was enough variety between the buffet and menu. Lots of fresh fruit and seafood options. Having coffee and dining right next to the ocean was amazing. The beach is nice but unfortunately sea grass has taken over most of the water - a common issue in the area. We did take the free shuttle to Royal Sands which has one of the most beautiful beaches with huge waves. The water is warm, clean and turquoise blue. Their buffet is also a good alternative to switch things up. That said we always enjoyed coming back to Royal Suites where the vibe was a little quieter and less busy. Shout out to the gardeners who maintain the beautiful gardens and grounds making all the walks through the resort even more enjoyable. All in all we would definitely return next year!

These suites are absolutely beautiful and spacious! Perfect for families. Staff was great and helpful. Loved the shallow beach for swimming/snorkeling for the little one and the dock was fun for swimming. There was not a lot for adults to do after tucking in the kids since everything closes at 10pm. There are only two smoking areas on the entire property so not ideal if you're a smoker. Buffet food was okay, but ordering from the menu was much better quality. Drinks were great and beach service was excellent thanks to Alfredo! Laura was our concierge and was very respectful and helpful even though we declined the timeshare sales pitch. We had a great time, but would probably not return since our children are older and need a bit more activities. Also, we prefer to have more options for adult time a bit later into the evening. The resort is safe and there is plenty to do in the surrounding areas. Overall we had a great time! Find Carl on the beach for some great excursions!

We loved this property purely because it was great for small children. Kids club, pools, kid-friendly food options. And calm waters. Definitely not a party resort nor a lot available for adult entertainment.

Lovely, quaint resort that was very clean, staff very kind. Especially the concierge and bellmen. Always so accommodating to book restaurants and flexible. We really enjoyed the sister resort also. One negative is when guests arrive, let them settle in, before trying to book them for time share presentation. It it valuable vacation time after very long journey to arrive. We wanted to change, refreshments and swim and it was too late afterwards.

Nice room arrangement - 2 bedroom suites with 3 beds. Quaint (much cuter than sister hotel - Royal Sands). Nice pools. Kids club is great for kids. The ladies are kind and genuine and provide activities and crafts and babysitting throughout the day. Good snorkeling under the pier. Walking distance to ferry to go to Isla Mujeres, which has even better snorkeling under Hotel Mia's pier. Food was safe but wasn't that great tasting. Staff was friendly and helpful. Noisy - Breathless hotel next door with loud music until 11pm, birds chirping, air conditioning too loud and cycles on and off as it tries to meet setpoint. The only way to stop the air conditioning noise is to have it turned off. If they get better air conditioning units that can have the fan keep running consistently (at lower volume) all night, then it would be able to drown out all the other noises around the hotel.

It was perfect for families - quiet and low key but with everything you need. The staff was extremely kind and we had excellent service the entire time. The food was also amazing. Would absolutely recommend!

It is a cozy property. The pool, beach and restaurant is all close to each other. You get shuttled to the sister resort, Royal Sands and you have to reserve early in the morning on the day that you want to go to the restaurant and/or shows.

I've stayed there twice in the last 6 weeks. The accommodations were fantastic and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was the perfect spot for me to relax and recharge.
