"We stayed for the weekend for a wedding and the first night our airconditioning did not work (it was 80F in the room), we mentioned it to the front desk and they said that their maintenance people were out for the rest of the day and would be up first thing in the morning. At first, I figured we had a fan in there and we’d be fine but the longer we stayed in there the more humid and hot it got (and also realized the tv in our room didn’t work either) So we went down and asked again if there was a different room or something they could do and they said we could wait until 11pm (when their next party would be checking in) to see if their last room was still open or wait until morning to switch to a different room. We ended up not getting a new room until around noon the next day. The front desk people both at night and the next day told us we would get some type of refund and get our parking covered but I have yet to see any type of discount and still paid for parking…"

"The room was clean. Note that if you reserve through a third party they will give you the least desirable room. I requested an early check in at 2pm. When I checked in they had just finished cleaning the room so the whole room smelled like bleach. I opened all the windows but that did not help. I was able to switch rooms. So I had my 2 dogs with me but I had to step out for a few minutes for the hotel breakfast. The manager called me and was so rude. I'm like did he forget that the hotel allowed dogs and that dogs actually bark? He asked if I was off the property without explaining what the call was about. It made me feel extremely uncomfortable. It was the strangest way to start off a phone call. So he continued to say people complained that my dogs were barking for an hour which was not true at all. He could've explained it without being rude and not assume that my dogs were left alone for an hour. He really seemed like he did not like his job. Even before the call. He lacked customer service skills. No smile or anything and standoffish or unapproachable. I was surprised to find out he was actually the manager. The gentleman at the front desk helped me switch rooms and also phoned me to let me know that the room was ready. He was very friendly and accommodating. Honestly the manager seemed to not be very people friendly at all."

"Nice hotel in a great location to explore San Clemente. We took train from San Diego so didnt have a car. Easy enough to get to from train station. Quiet and peaceful location, close enough to walk downtown but not too loud from night time crowds. Overall the staff was friendly and let us check in a couple hours early. Room was large and clean, we had a nice balcony. My only complaint was about the pool. We were traveling with 3 year old and she really wanted to use pool. We had to walk back and forth 3 times, twice because our keys wouldn't open gate to pool, he kept giving us new keys, until finally we were able to get into pool area. But then we learned there were no towels, so again had to walk back to front desk. you would think the guy at front desk would have mentioned something about towels one of the 2-3 times we checked with him about the pool."

"The owner is super amazing we needed go stay and extra night and he went out of his way to make sure we kept the same room (hotel was full) I will definitely come back"

" Easy parking, fresh bedding, clean room, ocean view over the HWY, bring ear plugs if your sensitive to traffic, great value for the location. Looks a little like Santorini with the blue and white painting vibe. "

"Not enough info on the hotel. Had hard time finding the place because confusion whether it is Rodeway Inn or Hotel Avenida. The description of being a boutique hotel is deception. Old run down hotel, no lobby, parking is terrible, room is dingy. "

"i’m not one to write reviews but our experience was so awful at this ‘hotel,’ that i feel compelled. to call this place a hotel is dubious. there was no one to help, billing themselves as fully automated, convenient for them not so much for the customer. there was loud noise late into the night being under a bar, the bed was very uncomfortable and had only a sheet, no extra blankets to be found anywhere. the shades didn’t keep the light or the noise from the street out. we knew we were in trouble when we saw the earplugs on the bedside table. we abandoned our next two paid nights because we didn’t sleep a wink. we were endlessly looped back to the bot olivia when we did try to get someone to talk to us. needless to say, they refused to return our money. "

"Occasional bugs would show up in the unit. No weatherstripping on the bottom of the entrance door so there’s about a quarter inch opening at the bottom so nothing stopping the bugs from outside from coming in. Unit is very basic, bed was comfortable."
