Cute little motel. Great restaurant across the street too. The room is small and clean. One odd thing: no electrical outlet in the bathroom. Owners are very thoughtful and attentive. It is family run, and the owner Dave has always been nothing but kind and hospitable to my husband and I. It is always clean and welcoming. Came here for business at Camp Pendleton, and I loved my stay here. This place was awesome, and the was price was great. Dave, the owner, goes out of his way to accommodate you and make you feel at home. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower was amazing. We loved our stay at the West Coast Surf Inn. It is an old school motel in the best way. Clean, comfortable, and no nonsense. The bed was genuinely comfortable, the room was well kept, and the shower had great water pressure. They even had great local coffee in the room with the coffee maker, which was a really nice touch. Bonus points for actual Charmin toilet paper, which says more about a place than people realize. It is affordable, honest, and clearly a family-run place by folks who actually care about your stay. And if you are lucky, Harvey will be around and you can pet him. The property is built in 1955, retro and old school. The owners are wonderful and keep everything very clean and tidy. Deluxe room had a chair, coffee table and couch in the separate tv room, a little refrigerator, microwave and coffeemaker also. The only problem I had was the shower and toilet were not good for my lower body arthritis. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Walkable to many restaurants, close drive to everything else San Clemente has to offer.
