Hotel Majestic

Hotel Majestic

10/10 Excellent
"No street or on-site parking available. Nearest parking is public lots about one to two blocks uphill to the west of Hotel. Considerable wait (about 25 minutes) getting a parking space in October, can't imagine trying to park during peak season. That said, pavement and sidewalks were reasonably navigable for wheeled luggage. Hotel entrance is off narrow side street connecting between Mediteranska and Pedestrian Esplanade. Room with view of mountains and water. Rather plain furnishings and decor, but clean. Attached Hemingway Restaurant with bar, kitchen, restrooms, and indoor and patio dining. Very popular location for tourists and locals. Less than three blocks from harbor and Budva Old Town. Breakfast was above average. Dining inside Hemingway's was relaxing refuge away from constant bustle of fronting pedestrian thoroughfare. Would recommend Majestic for laid-back atmosphere, views and convenience to harbor and historical sites."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Burtaiši?
The best area to stay in Burtaiši is the region immediately surrounding Lake Skadar, particularly the quieter spots near Virpazar.

This area is characterised by its stunning natural beauty, with the lake itself offering a serene backdrop. You'll find a mix of guesthouses and a few larger establishments dotted along the lakeside roads, often with direct access to boat tours. The main road, P16, provides good access to these locations, and Virpazar, while small, acts as a central point for lake activities.

Couples looking for a peaceful escape will find this area ideal. The focus here is on relaxation and enjoying nature. You can take boat trips directly from your accommodation's jetty, explore small, traditional fishing villages, and enjoy local wines and fresh fish at waterfront restaurants. It's great for those who appreciate quiet evenings and scenic views.

For those interested in exploring the local culture and enjoying outdoor activities, staying closer to Virpazar offers more convenience. This small town is the main hub for Lake Skadar National Park, with several tour operators, local eateries, and small shops.
When is the best time to go to Burtaiši?
The best time to go to Burtaiši is during the shoulder seasons of May, June, September, and early October.

These months offer pleasant weather – warm but not excessively hot – which is ideal for exploring the area's natural beauty and historical sites. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed experience at attractions and beaches. The sea temperature is also comfortable for swimming during these periods.

For those interested in outdoor activities like hiking or cycling in the surrounding hills and mountains, spring (May, June) and autumn (September, early October) provide the best conditions. The landscape is lush in spring, while autumn brings comfortable temperatures and often lovely colours.

If you're primarily looking for a beach holiday and don't mind warmer temperatures and more people, July and August are also suitable.
