While Brimfield is a small community, staying here means you're close to the few local eateries and shops, making it convenient for grabbing a meal or any necessities. The area around the library is quite pleasant and provides a good base for exploring the surrounding rural landscape. For those attending the Brimfield Antiques Show, staying in the village centre is highly practical. You'll be within easy driving distance of the showgrounds, typically a short trip outside the main village. The best time to go to Brimfield is during one of its three annual outdoor antique shows, which typically occur in May, July, and September. These shows are the primary reason most people visit Brimfield. Each show lasts for six days, usually Tuesday through Sunday, and transforms the town into a sprawling marketplace. You'll find thousands of vendors spread across multiple fields along Route 20, offering everything from furniture and collectibles to art and vintage clothing. For serious collectors and those wanting the first pick of items, arriving on opening day (Tuesday) is recommended. The fields can get very busy, so comfortable shoes and a plan for navigating the various sections are essential. If you prefer a slightly less crowded experience and enjoy hunting for bargains, visiting towards the end of the week, particularly Saturday or Sunday, can be good. Many vendors are more open to negotiating prices as the show draws to a close.
