Mountain Delight is a lovely home just above Hawksnest Snowtubing and ZipLine on Seven Devils. This renovated home has stainless appliances, tile work, hardwood floors, and new furniture. The views from this house are breathtaking and give a real sense of relaxation each day as the sun goes down. Enjoy beautiful sunsets from this home any season of the year. Seven Devils, central to most of the primary attractions in the High Country, is just off Highway 105\. You can easily access Banner Elk, Sugar Mountain, Hawksnest Resort, Boone, Grandfather Mountain, Blowing Rock, and Valle Crucis. This home is a two (2) bedroom three (3) bath home arranged to accommodate eight (8) people. The great room has a pull-out couch and trundle day bed. Main Floor Master Bedroom - Full Bed (sleeps 2) Bedroom 2 - Full Bed (sleeps 2 ) Two Full Baths on the first floor One Full Bath on the lower level Great room with Queen-sized Sleeper Sofa (Sleeps 2) Twin Day Bed with Trundle (Sleeps 2) Enjoy walks on the quiet wooded streets, play tennis on the Seven Devils courts, or go fishing at Grandfather Trout Farm. For adult anglers, the nearby Watauga River offers some of the best trout fishing in NC, or plan a river trip with Foscoe Fishing Company or one of the other outdoor adventures. There are many hiking opportunities nearby, including miles of trails at Grandfather Mountain Park and nearby Linville Falls. After a day of sightseeing, stroll the sidewalks of the nearby village of Banner Elk and enjoy one of its fine restaurants. In winter, you are just across the street from Hawks Nest Tubing and only a short drive to Sugar Mountain Ski Resort and Beech Mountain Ski Resort. Note that the driveway will hold 2 to 3 vehicles max. The house was also EXTREMELY dusty and dishes were not done so many utensils had leftover food on it. We found all the bathrooms dirty with previous tenants hair, empty shampoo bottles in the showers, social bathroom toilet not attached to the floor, unequipped kitchen for all occupants, basement beds with not enough blankets and sheets, the basement sofa supposedly is a bed and when unfolded, it is in precarious condition. ##### Alvaro G. Sofa and chairs are on their last leg. Also bring your coffee maker and coffee cup. There are only four small cups in the whole cabin. I would suggest having a larger capacity coffee maker. One that can brew at least 8 cups. The 4 cup coffee maker is too small. New bedding would match the new updated bathrooms. Within walking distance to Hawknest for snow tubing. Layout of the house is great too. Main two issues are the den furniture (couches and chairs) are old, musty, and partially broken. First I asked if wood was provided for the fireplace and they offered to sell it to us for $20/day which we had to reserve ahead of time. We decided to bring our own... it was a gas fireplace. We happened to to over MLK weekend and saw there was some snow predicted. It wasn't until we had arrived that the severity of Storm Izzy was realized, dumping nearly 2 feet of snow. When I reached out to ask if the driveway would be plowed, I received a response essentially saying they can't guarantee anything, but have a company that is contracted to plow after 3 inches at their convenience... at this point we had reached 3 in. 12 hours earlier and no one had come. They went on to say they have a disclaimer we should be prepared for winter conditions and they are not responsible for anything.... this was the worst storm in well over a decade, which no one could have prepared for. Luckily, we had spent the 2 days prior to leaving shoveling the driveway throughout the day or we would not have been able to get out.... we had asled a plow truck going down the street if he could help, but he was too afraid he would get stuck... I'm not sure how the rental company wanted us to prepare for that. There were additional responses that just baffled me as well. ##### Amanda T. The house is clean, good maintained and near to all visiting places. We stayed end of the July for three nights. There is no AC in the cabin. It was very hot and we could not sleep. Refrigerator leaks lots of water from top. We had to take out all of our food twice, we finally left a towel in there to help absorb the water. And there coffee pot overflows because the coffee maker is sunbeam and the pot is another name so it spills over because it doesn’t connect to the maker. We sent extra time cleaning up coffee, water from the refrigerator and holding dryer shut. There was no table on back patio to enjoy eating outside.. Oh unit has NO AC, and some of the windows don’t open due to overgrowth of bushes and holes (big ones) in screens. Other than that it was nice. Perfect for 2 families. We had 4 adults and 4 kids and the kids had the downstairs abs worked out great. Did have a couple of minor issues. There was 1 remote for the ceiling fan/light upstairs, and it controlled both but turned off 1 to turn on the other. The dryer door had duct tape to hold it shut. Lastly the loveseat upstairs felts like it was about to fall apart. However those were minor issues and we had a great time. Showers were awesome. The check in process was easy and fast, and the rental management company was very responsive and helpful. The view from the porch was better than the pictures can capture. The kitchen was pretty well stocked and the home was clean. The only thing that would have made it an even better stay would have been an outdoor fire pit and more porch furniture, especially a table to eat on. It did get warm during the day but with windows open at night and fans, no one really minded not having AC. There is a short hike to a waterfall (Otter Falls) down the hill. Overall, very pleasant stay and would gladly come again! ##### Reade T. An easy drive and close to everything. The house itself could use some love. It was very damp and not well ventilated even with the windows open. The chairs outside are about to give out and there is no table. The tip deck and bottom are also wide open so from a safety standpoint it would be very hard with kids! The house has a ton of potential, it seems like it needs some updating. The coffee maker also does not work- it leaks and only brews half of what you put in. Also, for a North Carolina house it should be stated a little larger somewhere that there is no AC! ##### Nicole M. While the house was amazing the parking was extremely limited and potentially dangerous. Due to the narrow drive in most cases, because of the shared driveway and number of cars, you had to back up the rather steep drive into a winding mountain road.
