It's perfect for a quiet, local retreat or a launch pad to explore the beautiful Maine coast – from Barred Island Preserve in Deer Isle to Acadia National Park. During your stay, you can pick your own adventure – from hiking, swimming, or kayaking, to gallery-hopping, sight-seeing or attending local events. It's an open kitchen-living room with a gas fireplace, wi-fi, sofa, chairs and antique kitchen table. If you're looking to cook, the fully-equipped kitchen is ready for you and includes an electric stove and oven, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. The large carpeted master suite has a queen-sized bed, with comfortable linens and pillows, a large walk-in closet, ironing board and iron. There's also a washer and dryer available for your use. Sit on the private deck with a charming view of the woods. Wildlife sightings include deer, bobcat, turkeys, hawks and many songbirds. It's not uncommon to hear barred owls calling at night. It's nice & quiet and ideal for 2 people. The weather was beautiful - we went hiking, biking, & kayaking. Be mindful of the cruise ship schedule if you want to venture into Bar Harbor. High Tide (Bangor), Friar's Brewhouse (Bucksport), Blaze (Blue Hill), & Bunker Seafood (Birch Harbor) are all outstanding restaurants. If you're lucky like us, you might catch some music at the Barncastle Hotel nearby in Blue Hill. Fort Knox in Bucksport is worth a visit if you like history. ##### Bryan P.
