"Our night at the Chateau had to be the single most memorable night of our trip. I loved it; my other half was a bit freaked by it all. The property is a long way from anywhere down a stone road. "I was always taught not to kick a dog when it’s down, however I feel compelled to write a comprehensive review of the failings of this Château. Whatever the history of Château de la Bainerie it matters not. Those currently in charge of looking after and managing this Château clearly do not have the skills, motivation or mindset to do a good job."

"The house, though not state of the art, was okay. Everything we needed was available. The rooms are spacious as the kitchen is. The garden was so beautiful. We couldn't stop watching (we were at the right time I suppose). Flowers were still blooming and there was an abbundance of fruit and vegetables we were allowed to use. This and the absolute silence was overwhelming.The environment of the estate is beautiful and quiet as well. Ghislaine is a very nice host. Present when needed. "

"Probably the best holiday rental we’ve ever stayed in. A real home from home. Hot tub/jacuzzi perfect, swimming pool perfect. Very private and very comfortable. We made full use of the outside kitchen. A very well equipped property. Our hosts were wonderful, we had problems with our car on the drive to the accommodation and they were fantastic helping us communicate with the garage. Nothing was too much trouble. Very informative with suggestions of places to visit and restaurants to try. Thank you for making our holiday very special. "

"Really peaceful, lovely rooms and a warm welcome. Really good continental breakfast. There was even a kettle and decent teabags! This hotel is excellent value for money. Immaculately clean, lovely bathrooms. The rooms were spacious and comfortable - modern rooms but in keeping with the traditional rustic building. The hotel has an honesty bar where you can get a beer (but not much else) although there's no drinks or facilities to make bake a drink in the rooms. The village itself is very quiet - nothing to do apart from go for a walk. The next village along, Brulon, had a few more restaurants/cafes. We ate in the restaurant next to the hotel - worth booking ahead as it didn't look like they did walk-ins. The hotel booked us a table the day before we arrived. We would definitely stay here again and wish we'd stayed more than one night - if you're looking for a comfortable, peaceful overnight stopover, this hotel is perfect."
