10/10 Excellent
"What a great vacation in Mangrove Cay. The property was amazing, right on the beach but also has yard space for hanging out. Scott set up a call with us before we left and gave us a ton of info about the island which made our trip so much better than trying to figure out everything once we arrived. Randy who looks after the property was great! He drove me around the island when we arrived so I would know where everything was located. We also chartered a fishing trip with him one day where he put us on snapper, grouper and other fish. After our trip, he filleted the fish for us so we could take to a local restaurant for them to cook for us. Overall a great experience, great house and host!"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Behring Point?
The best area to stay in Behring Point is the northern part of the community, close to the main road and the Behring Point settlement itself.

This area is the most developed part of Behring Point, offering easier access to local amenities and the main fishing operations. It's characterised by its proximity to the Behring Point airport and the estuary system, which is crucial for bonefishing. You'll find a few established lodges and guesthouses here, often located along the main thoroughfare.

For avid anglers, particularly those focused on bonefishing, this northern stretch is ideal. You'll be within easy reach of the prime fishing flats and the guides who operate in the area. The convenience of being close to the departure points for fishing excursions and having basic provisions nearby makes it a practical choice for a dedicated fishing trip.

Couples looking for a peaceful escape with a focus on natural beauty will also appreciate this area. While not bustling, it offers a tranquil setting with opportunities for kayaking, birdwatching, and enjoying the secluded beaches.
When is the best time to go to Behring Point?
The best time to go to Behring Point is during the dry season, which runs from December to May, offering the most consistently pleasant weather for all activities.

During these months, you'll experience warm temperatures, typically ranging from 24°C to 29°C, with lower humidity and minimal rainfall. This makes it ideal for enjoying the island's natural beauty, whether you're exploring the blue holes, fishing, or simply relaxing by the water. The calmer seas also make for excellent boating and diving conditions.

For those planning a fishing trip, especially for bonefish, the dry season is particularly advantageous. The clear, calm waters make it easier to spot fish, and the comfortable weather allows for longer, more enjoyable days out on the flats. This period is often considered prime time for serious anglers, ensuring the best chances for a successful catch.

While the summer months from June to November are warmer and more humid with a higher chance of rain, prices for flights and accommodation can sometimes be lower.
