We have never stayed in a cleaner or more well maintained rental AND it allows a dog which was extremely appreciated. Within 15 minutes of our arrival, we saw a beaver and a bald eagle, and heard the call of the loons. The small touches throughout made it a truly pleasant stay, from the coffee reserve being filled, to the handwritten note, wood staged in the stove, and the folded toilet paper. It was apparent the owners truly care about making their guests feel welcome and enjoy their stay. The communication was excellent and they ensured we were able to find the property without issue. Hosts were very responsive, home was clean and easy to find things, the property is beautiful and allowed us an opportunity to fully “unplug” for the week. Note for future renters, there is 5 miles of dirt road leading to the property, if you’re towing a trailer/boat expect everything to be sufficiently dusted! The only thing that didn’t exceed our expectations was there was no pond access from the property. Combination of low water level (August) and beaver activity prohibited us from being able to paddle out to the pond directly from the property which was a bummer. Otherwise we had a fantastic week and would recommend hands down if you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle. ##### Denster P. We saw so much wildlife, and thoroughly enjoyed being disconnected for a few days. The lodge has everything you need.... just make sure to bring the food you'll need for your stay. There are a few country stores within 15-30 minutes, but no grocery stores. My kids loved kayaking, fishing, making smores, and laying in the hammock. We made several say trips to Acadia, and also found some hiking trails nearby. The pictures are accurate and the reviews are true. This is a slice of heaven on earth. This location is the perfect balance of off grid and accessible. We arrived for our honeymoon and were mind blown at how accommodating and thoughtful the owners are. They have all the pots and pans, seasonings, and basic condiments you need. Bar harbor and Bangor were perfect day trips and didnt feel like a trek to get to. We took a drive one day and randomly hiked part of Acadia in our crocs simply because we could. They had the fire pit stocked and ready to go- we just had to light the kindle. They even had the s’mores sticks by the campfire ready to go. This isn’t just another vrbo- these people love their home, their community and love providing a positive experience for others. We loved it so much we’d love to find some property in the area in the future. You rarely hear anything other than the sound of nature. Kimberly was amazing in any question we had , responding immediately. Bring you your food and stay put here to relax, reboot and re-energize here. We will be back for more than 3 nights next time. Easy drive from Bangor airport. This cabin is exactly what I’m looking for when I relocate to Maine in my retirement. Beautiful location just far enough off the grid to relax from the daily grind. Kimberly was very responsive. My only regret was not meeting the Murphy’s. The kids loved the oversized bean bag in the little time we were in the cabin. The rest was spent in the peace and tranquility of the outdoors at the cabin fishing, canoeing, kayaking to get a stuck bobber and playing games in the driveway. The boat landing not far down the road gave the kids a great place to swim and pick clams! The pictures do not do this place justice. It is quiet, beautiful and has all the comforts of home. The beds were so soft and cozy. The furnishings both inside and out were plentiful and comfortable. Being able to access the water with the canoe and kayak was perfect. My teenage son was excited about this and the fishing. We enjoyed grilling out dinner on the grill and then having dinner on the patio. And the bonfire pit was perfection. This cabin has every single item you would need at a rental property. From the cabin we were able to visit Acadia and Bar Harbor, yet be able to come back to a peaceful setting. ##### Ali C.
