*** ALL ABOUT THE PROPERTY ***
The Cozy Chic Chalet is full of wonderful memories from many guests that have stayed before and we hope that you will create beautiful memories in our darling cabin as well! With that spirit in mind, please remember that this is our family cabin and we are inviting you into our home. Be mindful of this and treat our things with kindness and respect.
We love to be surrounded by beautiful things, wrapped in cozy blankets, candles flickering, wood burning in the fireplace, with delicious aromas wafting from the kitchen. Our light and bright space has fun decor and personal touches abound, including glass cloches holding nature-scavenged treasures, fun antique store finds, live edge wood furniture, and touches of our favorite Anthropologie luxuries like Liberty of London chairs and tasseled curtains. Mix in some West Elm bedding, soft linen duvets, crisp cotton sheets, down filled pillows and you’re set for a comfortable and memorable stay in the woods.
Our kitchen is a chef’s delight! We've given our treasured guests full access to the spice cabinet, along with all our gourmet kitchen tools and appliances. Want to whip up some fresh pasta? - molto bene! We have a pasta maker old school crank style, just for you. Our cabin is your cabin.
We have some personal locked spaces for our own belongings, but those are clearly marked.
*** ACCESS TO THE PROPERTY ***
You'll access the cabin with a smart-lock. We'll send you the code and wifi password before you arrive. The entire cabin and surrounding outdoor area is all yours!
FLAT parking for 3-4 vehicles. No need drive up a steep driveway in the snow/ice or shovel your way in or out.
We provide local driveway snow removal, regularly scheduled trash pick up service, full cleaning services, and minimal check out requirements. *** Many cabins in this area require you to shovel yourself in/out, wash your own linen, and pack your trash out! That doesn’t sound relaxing to us so we have it included. ***

WEATHER ALERT
We get a lot of snow at the cabin! We have a snow plow contract for the driveway, but in instances of extreme snowfall, you may be required to shovel the front stairs in order to access the front door (shovels right inside lower deck). If you want to use the spa during snow season (check out the last photo to see how much snow we get on the deck), you may also have to clear a path to the spa. There is a $50 spa fee. Please do not book the cabin during the winter if you are not in the physical condition to be lifting and shoveling heavy snow. The power also goes out in the winter, and in some cases does not come back on for days. In these cases we can refund your stay less than the night(s) you have stayed, or you can see it as an adventure like we do! There are many many LED lanterns (top shelf of laundry room) and we have a wood-burning fireplace, so it will be warm and cozy while you’re waiting for the power to come back on! You can get creative with cooking during power outages over the fire or on the outdoor grill.
SNOW CLOTHES
On the upside, we have so many snow clothes available for guest use ranging from 2T to 16 youth, to adult XXL. Also snow boots of many sizes (10 toddler through adult 12). Please do not put wet snow clothes away in the bins or we will have a serious mold issue! Just leave anything that’s still damp hanging by the stairway on the hooks.
FIREPLACE
BEWARE of the hot iron fireplace. Be very careful that kids do not touch the metal or roughhouse near it if you choose to light a fire (firewood and kindling provided). Also NEVER leave snow gloves or boots on or near the wood stove. The plastic and/or rubber will melt. Please do not remove hot ashes from the fireplace. This is a fire hazard. Keep ashes in the fireplace and our cleaning service can take care of it.
