  • Enjoy a luxurious seaside lifestyle in this contemporary beach house. This waterfront home is situated on a private 3 acre lot with panoramic views out to the Tatamagouche Bay, just off the Northumberland Strait. Boasting the warmest waters north of the Carolinas, the private beach offers great swimming with a rocky coastline for exploring and expansive sandbars at low tide. This custom-designed home features an open floor plan with sea-side inspired décor throughout. Enjoy cooking in the gourmet kitchen complete with stainless steel appliances and quartz countertops. The beautiful great room with abundant windows, offers commanding views to the water, a wood burning fireplace and vaulted ceiling. The adjacent dining room offers waterfront dining for 8. Three of the four bedrooms showcase water views and all bedrooms offer hotel-quality mattresses and linens. The upstairs Master bedroom offers a window seat, perfect for curling up with a beach read, or you can enjoy your coffee in the morning sun on the private balcony. Downstairs, the expansive deck offers sun or shade at any time of the day. Adirondack chairs or a double chaise lounger also offer retreats for soaking up the view. This property is centrally located on Nova Scotia’s north shore, just off Scenic route 6 (Sunrise Trail), 10 minutes from Jost Winery, 20 minutes from Tatamagouche and 25 minutes from Northumberland Links Golf course.

We were 4 male golfers who stayed 2 nights. It is a beautiful spot, close to both Fox Harb'r and Northumberland golf courses. Right on the water with stairs to a smooth rocky beach. It was exactly as described and worked perfectly for us.

This property was in an excellent location on a beautiful beach. It seemed very private and we had the beach to ourselves. The house was clean and ready upon arrival. We definitely would stay here again!

Lux Stay

Exceptional property, quiet but plenty to see and do. Seal watching at low tide, with a resident bald eagle. Beaches near by and plenty is shoreline in your backyard.

Spectacular

Beautiful, clean, and very private home. We spent days out and about or just sitting at waterside in the quiet watching the eagles and cormorants. Evenings we usually cooked in the exceptionally well equipped kitchen. The beds were comfortable. I highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful location

Both the property and house are beautiful. The rocky beach was a lot of fun for exploration and skipping rocks. House is fully equipped with everything you would need for a relaxing vacation. Town is about 20 min away with all the amenities you need.

Cousins trip

We had a very enjoyable trip. Very nice place that was setup great for our group. Views of the bay and wildlife were outstanding. Couple of tips - plan your shopping to minimize your drives. We needed to heat water on stove for coffee maker, but it worked ok.

The home is lovely and well appointed. Some of our guests would have liked drapes as the morning sun is bright.As we were there in the winter it would have been nice if the heat had been turned on prior to our arrival. And this would have made the homeowner aware of the heat not working in the lower wing. We tried without success.There was no dry wood available for the fireplace which would have been nice to have readily available.We also had a windstorm which pointed out that the French doors in the Master Suite (lower) were unlatched and we needed help getting them latched as it was an unusual method.All in all, we had fun. It was supposed to be a lazy vacation and would come again. The homeowner could step it up if the winter season is something he is serious about pursuing.A "house-book" available on the island may have been of assistance instead of contacting the owner or looking through every door/drawer.In the end he made it right, and we are all adults with a sense of humour and no harm was done.

Wonderful beach house

Great beach house with expansive open spaces. Quiet and private location, great for family time. We explored the changing tides, saw a seal, crane, hummingbirds, and grouse on the property. Very close to blue sea beach and Jost winery. Wonderful stay and great host. Thanks!

We had a week here and thoroughly enjoyed it. The house is spectacular, completely private with a wonderful view out over Tatamagouche Bay. The kitchen has every amenity you can think of, plus. We were particularly tickled to find the outdoor shower and never even used the ones inside! And Trevor is so friendly and was great about answering all our questions and responding quickly.Our only disappointment was the "beach," which isn't really ideal for either swimming, walking or kayaking (which is why we rented there). It's all slippery rocks and shallow very far out. But gorgeous Blue Sea Beach is a few minutes' drive away and heaven for swimming and walking. Overall an excellent stay, very quiet and peaceful. Oh and we saw a whole bunch of seals sunning themselves on the rocks at low tide, bonus!

Northumberland golf accommodation

The home is actually nicer than the photos. The setting is secluded, remote and private. We had visits from bald eagles and a family of deer. The views across the bay are beautiful and relaxing. The outdoor deck area is perfect for an outdoor barbecue dinner which we did twice. If you are staying in the area and want comfort, privacy and luxury stay here. Oh, and we preferred Northumberland links over Fox H'rbr. Both are very good but Fox is twice the price.

Beautiful Home

Nice property in a very peaceful area. Everything as depicted in photos. Had issues entering property due to electronic key system. If renting be sure to download key before arriving as there is very poor mobile reception in this part of NS making uploading app very difficult.

Beautiful beach house with fabulous views

We absolutely enjoyed our week long stay at this very special property! The beach house is even more beautiful in person than it is in the pictures. Large windows showcased the beautiful views. Kitchen - large and well equipped, perfect for hosting memorable seafood feasts! Oysters and clams down the road at Bay Enterprises; lobster at Chase’s; groceries in Tatamagouche. Blue Sea Beach was a treat a low tide. Loved the Saturday market at Tatamagouche. Perfect retreat for downtime and relaxation. Trevor was an attentive and warm host. Thank you so much for sharing your home! We look forward to our next stay!

Lovely coastal home

We stayed with another couple for 4 nights while golfing and touring Nova Scotia. The location is convenient to small villages and local golfing. Reasonable drive to Halifax and PEI. The view and setting are spectacular. We enjoyed observing the tide changes, the area beaches (Blue Sea and Rushton), Jost Winery and strolling around Tatamagouche. Trevor was very helpful and prompt when answering the few questions we had. The kitchen was amazing and completely equipped for cooking. Casual, comfy furniture and great beds. It looks as good as the online photos!

Malagash Point Beach House - summer 2022

Absolutely fantastic property, location and owner. The drive from Halifax airport was a breeze and the directions were easy to follow in Waze. Every detail of the house was beautiful and well thought through. We were a family of 6 (two young children and grandparents) for a week in Aug and there was more than enough room for all of us to eat, play and even get some quiet down time when needed. The private beach was easily accessible and great for clamming, making fires, etc... the local Provincial park beach (Blue Sea Beach) is a 5 min drive down Malagash Road and well worth the visit... we walked for miles on the hard packed sand as the tide went out. Chase's Lobsters, Bay Enterprises Clams and Oysters, Salt Mine Museum, Tatamagouche and day trips into PEI over Confederation Bridge were just some of the highlights of our week at the house. Trevor was a pleasure to rent from and quickly responded to any questions we had. We would come back in a heartbeat and will remember our 2022 Malagash vacation for years to come!

Wonderful property, a few issues

Property is stunning. Bright and beautiful, well-laid out, terrific for groups of friends or families. The property seems new but we did have a few challenges - the ceiling leaked all over our shoes in the front entryway, we messaged and it was clear it was a known issue with the bathtub upstairs. There was no propane which we found out Saturday evening when trying to put on our dinner so that was very disappointing. There are many broken hinges in the kitchen cabinets. There were a million mosquitos, totally normal for that area by the water but a screened in room may be nice. Wonderful place, but paying over $2k for two nights we expected a bit better attention to detail. If those things were fixed it’s terrific.

We wanted to love this place.

Upon arrival, we found that the house had not been appropriately cleaned. We did contact the owners and were offered an extra night of stay, but we unfortunately could not take them up on that offer and did not hear back from them. There were half filled cups on the porch, used water bottles in one of the rooms, a couple of dead bugs on some linens, and the garbage was overflowing in the metal shed in the backyard. When we opened some of the cabinets in the kitchen, we found mouse droppings in with the dishes and by the toaster. In addition to the cleanliness issues, there were bears and porcupines that visited daily to the property. They have a beautiful deck, but it wasn’t safe to use that space or to grill. We arrived after check-in on the first night and upon getting out of the car, hoards of mosquitos came out of the grass and clung to our clothes as we were trying to get our luggage into the house. Bugs seem to be an issue in general. We would often find ourselves waking up to find spiders or ants crawling on us in the night. The deck and gutters had hornets everywhere. The weather was quite warm and the downstairs common areas stayed cool, however, all of the bedrooms were exceedingly hot even while running the air conditioner all day. Some of the rooms have no curtains, so the heat coming in when the sun is up early warms the place quickly. Due to the warmer water in June, there were jellyfish everywhere. It made beach play exceedingly difficult for the kids.

The whole family loved staying at this beautiful cottage by the sea. The cottage is spacious and very tastefully and comfortably decorated. It had everything you could possiyneed for a most satisfying and peaceful vacation. The host was gracious and welcoming. Five state all the way.

Beautiful Beach House property

The interior layout, comfortable bedrooms, spectacular views didn’t disappoint Proximity to SeaBlue provincial park/beach was a plus Beach at the end of the property is rocky and at the bottom of a steep stairwell (WIP) but, very enjoyable to walk at low tide… Great location for our family gathering…. The one year old enjoyed the ample space and the toys supplies…. The crib and high chair were an added bonus Trevor was very responsive to any of my inquiry/concern Nature at his best…..Saw deers, bear, fox, raccoon, porcupine on the property either at dusk or dawn and a fair amount of mosquitos/wasps (normal for this time of year) 😵‍💫 Wouldn’t hesitate to come back
