This central area of Almăj provides the most convenient access to local amenities and the village's everyday life. You'll find the local shops, cafes, and any community buildings clustered here. The main road often serves as the primary route for exploring the surrounding countryside and accessing nearby points of interest. It's a relaxed setting, allowing you to experience the authentic pace of village life.

For couples seeking a tranquil getaway, staying in the village centre offers easy access to gentle strolls through the village or along its outskirts. It's a good base for exploring the natural beauty of the Dolj County countryside, with many opportunities for day trips to nearby forests or rivers.
When is the best time to go to Almăj?
The best time to visit Almăj is during the late spring (May to early June) or early autumn (September to early October) to experience the most pleasant weather.

These periods offer comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 18°C to 25°C, making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the region. You'll find the countryside lush and green in spring, superb for hiking and enjoying the blooming flora. Early autumn brings vibrant colours to the forests and vineyards, with fewer crowds than the peak summer months.

Couples looking for a romantic getaway will appreciate the serene landscapes and opportunities for leisurely walks through the surrounding hills and valleys without the intense heat of summer. The milder weather during these shoulder seasons also makes outdoor dining more enjoyable.
