The furnishings are anything from 20-40 years old, the room was beyond basic with no air conditioning and upon leaving the window open to be able to sleep all we could...

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Ally?
The best area to stay in Ally is in and around the village centre, particularly near the wind farm, for convenient access to local attractions and a peaceful environment.

The village centre of Ally is small and peaceful, known for its iconic wind farm which is a prominent landmark. Accommodation here often includes traditional gîtes and bed and breakfasts that offer a true taste of rural France. You'll find a few local shops and a restaurant or two, making it easy to experience local life.

For couples seeking a quiet retreat, staying in Ally itself is ideal. The pace of life is slow, allowing for relaxing walks through the countryside and enjoying the views of the wind turbines. It's a lovely spot for unwinding and enjoying each other's company away from the bustling city.

Families will also find Ally a good choice, especially if they enjoy outdoor activities. Many accommodations offer gardens or outdoor spaces for children to play.
When is the best time to go to Ally?
The best time to go to Ally, Auvergne, France, is during late spring (May to early June) and early autumn (September to October).

During these periods, the weather is generally pleasant, with comfortable temperatures ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the region without the intense heat of mid-summer. You'll find the countryside is at its most picturesque, with blooming wildflowers in spring or the rich colours of autumn foliage, great for walks and outdoor activities.

For those who enjoy hiking and cycling, these shoulder seasons offer excellent conditions. The trails around Ally, including those leading to the nearby Ally Wind Farm or along the river pathways, are less crowded than in peak summer, providing a more peaceful experience.
